MISSIONARY Bethany Walton DONATE I am humbly honored to announce that the Lord has called me to be a missionary in this season! This year I will be working along with the Circuit Riders, a ministry under YWAM also known as Youth With A Mission. This past year I had the joy of attending the Circuit Riders training school that trains and equips students to to spread the Gospel everywhere, with an emphasis on college campuses to reach my generation with the love of Jesus! I personally have seen so much fruit in my generation. I have seen students accept Christ for the first time and I have also seen students completely set free in the love of Jesus! Through our outreach which is called the Carry The Love Tour. Carry The Love Tour is when students criss cross America to spread the gospel, along with going to hundreds of college campuses, high schools ,and neighborhoods in America and overseas. Carry The Love shares the Gospel through evangelism, worship/ministry nights, and training, so even more students on their campuses know how to reach their peers with the love of Jesus. What makes all of this so beautiful is that I will both grow in my walk with Jesus and be a part of the Gospel movement sweeping America in our day, as well as gain professional skills that will help me be light and salt in any industry the Lord leads me! I believe that the World is waking up to a hunger for God in our day that is seen in every sphere of society, including with young people everywhere. The time is now for the believers to join together in prayer and evangelism to see every nation , tribe, and tongue turn back to Jesus. I feel so blessed to be born into such a time as this, and honored that God would send me to be His hands and feet. I want to encourage you as a child of God that God is bringing a generation of his children back home , and that he hears your prayers for the lost. God’s goodness has transformed my life and continues to transform my life. MISSIONARY Claire Nunez DONATE Hi! My name is Claire. I am a missionary with a passion for worship, art, and helping people realize their true identity in Jesus. I am a nerd, artist, musician, extrovert, and tea lover, with a love for Japan, and of course for Jesus. I love being able to use the creativity God gave me to give Him glory and to bless others. God called me to do a discipleship training school with YWAM in Tokyo, Japan, back in June of 2016, and as soon as I set foot in Japan, I knew in my heart I was going to come back someday. My DTS was hands down the best five months of my life; I was captivated by God’s love, learned and grew so much, and fell even more in love with Japan. After coming home for several months, I did a school of worship in Kona, Hawaii with University of the Nations, and during that school I finally felt like God was giving me the OK to apply as staff with YWAM Tokyo. On Valentine’s day of 2018, I got the news that I’d been accepted as staff. And so begins the journey back to Japan! I am looking forward to joining my YWAM Tokyo family once again and being able to share Jesus’ love in Japan. I’ll be going back for about three years. Missionary Taesol Lee DONATE God came to me as someone who was living without knowing who God or Jesus was. He met with me, held my hand, and called me to be a missionary for North Korea. I thank God, who chose me before I was born on this earth and who called me as His child and as a missionary for North Korea. I’m a North Korean defector who moved to South Korea in 2016. During my defection process, I first heard the words "God" and "Jesus" in a Thai prison. At first, I thought God was just a myth or a legend, but after seeing the unwavering service of a Korean missionary for four months, I began to wonder about the God I saw who was working within the missionary's heart. This became the seed. However, after settling in Korea, I was attending church but living a life where I was drifting away from God and having my heart stolen and hurt by the world. My identity was shaken because of the misunderstandings and prejudices people had towards me and I blamed God for the layers of hardship that had come upon me, which resulted in me feeling resentful and crying out. Two years ago, I developed a brain tumor and was unable to find the strength or the reason to live. During this time, my pastor recommended that I go do a DTS (Discipleship Training School) at YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Switzerland. Since I needed rest for health reasons and was grasping at any straw I could find, I ended up deciding to go to Lausanne, Switzerland. At this time, God answered my resentful prayers, allowing me to see how He had taken care of me, how much He loved me, and had been waiting for me to look to Him instead of the world. God also gave me the realization that I still have family and friends in North Korea, and that if I, who knows their pain and suffering better than anyone, do not pray for them, who then will pray for that place? Through this, I realized that my calling is for North Korean missions. ... After completing the DTS (Discipleship Training School, which runs for five months), DBS (Discipleship Bible School, which runs for three months), and MLD (Ministry Leadership Development, which runs for three months) here in Lausanne, I began serving as a staff member in March. Here is a brief introduction to my one-year life here at YWAM Lausanne: DTS (Discipleship Training School): This is an intensive discipleship training course that’s a foundational school at YWAM, to train students to become disciples of Christ through 12 weeks of lectures and 8 weeks of outreach. Through DTS, I had the privilege of having a deep encounter with God, and, through the outreach, I realized how valuable and gracious it is to live a life of sharing the Gospel. DBS (Discipleship Bible School): Through this 12-week course, we were taught to see and discover God's revelation through reading the living Word of God and how to draw closer and develop an intimate relationship with Him. During DBS, I was able to read through the entire Bible for the first time and meet with the God who came to us through our work, ministry, and the words of the Bible. During this time, I deeply realized that the path I must walk and live out is the path of following Jesus. MLD (Ministry Leadership Development): This 12-week school trained us on what we need to be prepared for to serve, that we need to humble ourselves and be like Jesus, who washed the disciples' feet, and learn how to be ministers who lead the little sheep to Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Through MLD, I realized how much I lack and need training to live as a Christian and missionary. Starting Ministry (DTS Staff): I’m currently in the process of preparing to serve the DTS that’s starting in early April which will be conducted in both Korean and English and will have around 50 students who will attend for a 6-month training journey. As this is my first ministry role, I have many shortcomings and am nervous. Still, I am preparing my body and mind in prayer to love each student more, remembering the staff members who have prayed for me and helped me to stand confidently before God. "Beware that you don't look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father." - Matthew 18:10 Although I know I am inadequate to be in this serving position, I hope to move forward by loving more and remembering all those who have been channels of God's love in my life, allowing me to be able to stand here today. I’m sure you’re asking ‘Why is he receiving training in Switzerland when his calling is for North Korean missions?’, so I will go ahead and answer that question. It was only after coming to Switzerland that I first realized there are so many people around the world who are praying for North Korea. I also realized that it was shameful for me to have tried to erase and hide the memory of being born there while I was living in South Korea. Since our church is putting a lot of effort into North Korean missions and because many missionaries around me are serving in missions for North Korea, I thought that missions only meant going to the mission field to serve, to North Korean defector schools, or to China for ministry. But I repented of this mindset and realized that what comes first is being trained to be ready to run whenever and wherever God calls me and to know His heart. Like Daniel, I pray daily, embracing North Korea in my heart, and partner with many friends around the world who also have a heart for North Korea. Through reading the Scriptures, I also realized that a lot of training and growth is needed before I can stand in that position. Just as God trained Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and David for a long time before working through them, I discovered that this place is the training ground that God has prepared for me. Please pray that I may know God, know His will, and become one who resembles His character so that I can fulfill the role entrusted to me by God after being grown and trained. Prayer Requests: Please pray for my character. When I abide by grace and thanksgiving, I can love and serve others. But I am lacking, and I often forget to be gracious and thankful. As well as that, instead of God's character, I tend to treat people with my wounds, prejudices, and the instability that is deep within me. Please pray that I may abide in grace and approach each person with God's character, not my own inadequate character. Please pray that I do not become prideful. As the Scriptures say, the position of serving is not one of exaltation but of humility. Please pray that I may serve with humility. During the three months of reading the Bible, I seem to have made reading and knowing the Bible my idol because I did it more diligently than anyone else. Instead of letting the Word sink into my life to become more like Jesus, I found myself boasting and enjoying teaching. I repented a lot. Please pray that I may strive to serve with humility, not pride. Please pray for God's provision. There were many times when I looked at my bank balance and wanted to give up training and living a life of faith and just return to Korea to work. Although I had decided to live as a missionary after knowing God's love, I still would lose my heart to money. When I felt ashamed of myself for this, I realized through the book of Exodus that beautiful Switzerland is my "wilderness." Please pray and partner with me so that I may be thankful for being with God, remembering the grace He has given, and becoming someone who can pass through the "wilderness" journey steadfastly, believing that God will provide for us as our Provider. I'm stepping into a 8-month season of missions work and i'd love to invite you to be a part of it. After prayer and consideration, I'm stepping out in faith and settling in Tennessee to begin another full-time season with Fire and Fragrance Nashville. What is Fire and Fragrance Nashville? Fire and Fragrance is a missions training and sending organization centered around Jesus and his mission. We exist to serve the global church in the Great Commission through; worship and prayer, awakening youth movements, and sending teams to least reached people groups. This coming fall, I'll be serving in two departments: worship + prayer, and mobilization. In worship + prayer, I'll be leading weekly worship sets, prayer sets, and stepping into the role of prayer coordinator- serving our base of approximately 55 staff in helping cultivate a vibrant culture of prayer all week long in the prayer room. For mobilization, I'll be focusing on college and sorority ministry, short-term outreaches (one in the fall to Africa, and one in the spring to South America), leading Bible studies, and working alongside The Send (another ministry organization) to help catalyze the next generation to fulfill the Great Commission and be sent to unreached people groups. I'm incredibly excited about this opportunity and believe this is where God is asking me to invest my time, energy, and yes to Him these next 8-months. Here's where I need your help. Together with my seven siblings, we faced difficult circumstances and often lacked many of the things we needed. As I look back on my life, I can see how God has been guiding me and shaping my heart. Missionary Isabelle Jones DONATE Hi friends and Family! I am so happy to inform you all that I will be spending the next chapter of my life in Urbino, Italy, serving God. Urbino is a walled city in the northern central part of Italy. It was built in the 15th century and is home to around 15,000 people, with a majority of those being university students. Unfortunately Urbino has no Protestant churches or places for the students in the university to share and learn with others about God. The Catholic church is the most present in the city, but it doesn't give youth a chance to fully see what life with God is like or the resources to do that. The mission is to turn a restaurant that is located in the heart of the city into a cafe where students can relax, have fun, and learn about God. I will be there with the Dalton family, who have been serving in Italy for ten years. They have worked with YWAM students in Trentino and have done work in Geneva. They are now being called to Urbino. The cafe will serve coffee drinks and pastries, along with American dishes and family meals that will be served during certain times and for low prices to bring in the student presence. As many of you know, I love cooking and baking, and it has been a passion of mine for a while, so when this opportunity came up, I was very excited. The Daltons have been forming a team of students and adults from all over the world. Jobs have not been assigned, but I will most likely be serving in the kitchen, cooking and baking, as well as helping build a christian community with nights of worship, bible studies and helping facilitate community gatherings. I will be leaving early June -July to help start up the cafe and get training, as well as moving in and getting my visa. I am dedicated to spending a year in Urbino, so I would greatly appreciate any support, whether that be prayer or helping me fundraise. Missionary Everett Kerr DONATE Hey! My name is Everett Kerr I’m 18 years old and I want to help spread the Gospel and the Love of God with every tribe, tongue, and nation! I first started working with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in 2021 as a Mission Builder, I fell in love with the work and volunteered at the University of the Nations Campus in Kona Hawaii for just under a year. I started by working construction, building Dorm rooms and classrooms, mainly working on finishing the buildings doing drywall and tile work. After doing that for 9 months I was asked to Lead the Landscaping Team and got to manage a team of 4 Kokua Crew during the days and a DTS Work Duty team of 20 that would work in the afternoons. In January of 2022, I did a Discipleship Training School (DTS) at YWAM Kona, and went on outreach to the USA, mainly in Northern California but we also road-tripped across the states to Kansas City. After my DTS, I joined staff with YWAM Kona Kokua Crew and was put in charge of the Landscaping team again. I managed the Landscaping team for 9 Months and then got an opportunity to Staff at YWAM Montana and Lead an outreach to Mazatlan and Durango Mexico! Now I am returning to Kona to staff a 6 month DTS in January. I will be doing a Leadership Track for 3 months leading up to Staffing DTS, and then I will mentor students and lead an outreach team to the Nations! My vision is that all Nations, tribes, and tongues would get to hear the Good News of Jesus and the Gospel. While I was leading a team to Mexico my eyes got opened to how so many people don’t have Bibles and have never heard about Jesus. I will need to fundraise $1500 monthly support for the next 6 months. That will cover my training with YWAM, room and board, and the funds needed to lead a team to the Nations for 3 months!
