Missionary Cheryl Ensinger DONATE For more than three decades, the Lord has prepared me through cross-cultural missions, nursing, discipleship, prayer ministry, and leadership. Along the way, I discovered that my greatest joy is simply joining Jesus in the work He is already doing. More than pursuing a particular ministry title or platform, my heart has always been to love the people God places before me and help them encounter the compassion, healing, and restoring presence of Christ. Today, God has invited me into a new season of serving and sharing life among the people of Guatemala. As a registered nurse and follower of Jesus, my calling weaves together compassionate care, prayer, discipleship, and learning Spanish so I can build meaningful relationships within the communities where He has called me. Whether serving in a clinic, praying with someone in need, encouraging a neighbor, or simply sharing everyday life, my desire is to faithfully love the people around me and reflect Christ in both ordinary and extraordinary moments. Hildebrandt Adoption Evan Hildebrandt and Alison Shepard Hildebrandt DONATE Hello, friends and family! We have some exciting news! Some of you may know that for many years, we have longed to have children of our own, but were never able to do so. Adoption has also been a dream of ours, and we have decided to take a leap of faith toward that dream! We have recently been accepted into the Nightlight Christian Adoptions Bulgaria program! Bulgaria has a high population of Roma children who are waiting to be adopted. The Roma people, sometimes referred to in a derogatory sense as Gypsies, originally come from Northern India in the Punjab region. Over a thousand years ago, they began migrating out of India towards Persia and then into Europe. They have been persecuted for centuries and were targeted by Hitler and his regime during the Holocaust. The Roma people still endure persecution to this day and often struggle with poverty, as well as lack of access to education and resources that many of us take for granted in America. We have a tender place in our hearts for Roma children for several reasons. We were married in Scotland and have traveled to Europe many times over the years. I (Alison) also had family who lived in Spain, and I spent quite a bit of time in Europe because of that. My aunt Stephanie and uncle Patrick lived in Mallorca, Spain, and during one of my visits, they took me to see a group of Roma people doing traditional folk dancing. This was my first introduction to the amazing talent and rich cultural traditions of the Roma people. My uncle Patrick also exposed me to flamenco music performed by very talented Roma musicians and dancers. Patrick described the kind of persecution that Roma people endured as being similar to what African American people experienced before the Civil Rights movement. During our travels to Europe, Evan and I encountered many impoverished Roma people begging on the streets for help. There were times when we would stop to pray for them, buy them food and speak with them if they spoke English or Spanish. There was one time when we were living in Barcelona, where Evan gave a barefoot Roma man a pair of his shoes. Bulgaria has one of the highest Roma populations in Europe. Bulgarian orphanages are filled with Roma children because of the social stigma against them; most Europeans do not want to adopt Roma children. Older sibling groups are particularly vulnerable and not as likely to get adopted. There are not many great options for Roma children who do not get adopted. It is not an easy thing for Roma people to get good jobs because of the prejudice against them. It is for this reason that we have decided to adopt an older Roma sibling group. Our dream is to be able to keep two siblings together and provide them with a loving home and all the opportunities that becoming Americans would have to offer them. If your heart is moved by our dream and you feel called to help, we would be so very grateful for your support. Your gifts will help cover the many legal fees and administrative costs of adoption. We also have to travel to Bulgaria twice in order to be able to adopt, and you can help us fund our travel costs to bring our children home. Karis Lieto Medical Fund Chris and Karis Lieto DONATE Karis' Journey : Asking for your help On December 26th, Karis was diagnosed with colon cancer after experiencing ongoing stomach pain that led to a colonoscopy. What we hoped would be a simple answer turned into something far more serious—a tumor was discovered in her sigmoid colon. In February, she underwent major surgery at UCSF Medical Center, where they successfully removed the tumor along with margins above and below the affected area. After a difficult recovery and four weeks in Northern California, we returned home briefly before seeking a longer-term treatment path. Post-surgery, Karis was diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer. This means the cancer had extended beyond the colon wall and was found in nearby lymph nodes, significantly increasing the risk of recurrence. To proactively address any remaining cancer cells, we made the decision to temporarily relocate to Irvine, California, where Karis is now undergoing a comprehensive treatment plan at the Cancer Center for Healing. This includes both conventional chemotherapy and integrative, holistic therapies designed to address root causes and strengthen her body and spirit for long-term healing. We’ve left our home in Hawaii and committed to being here full-time for the next 12 weeks. Karis is in treatment five days a week—mentally, emotionally, and physically it’s an intense journey. It’s a lot, and while we’re doing everything we can, the financial burden of this road—medical bills, housing, living expenses—has become overwhelming. It’s not easy for us to ask for help. In fact, it’s something we’ve always tried to avoid. But after encouragement from people who love us, we’ve created this space for anyone who feels moved to support us. Facilitators Paskistan Flood Relief Facilitators Paskistan Flood Relief DONATE Dear Brothers, We Facilitators International write to you today with heavy hearts. Pakistan is facing one of the most catastrophic flooding disasters in its recent history. Since late June, 788 people have died in heavy rains that have caused flash floods and glacial lake outbursts sweeping away roads, villages, livestock and farmland and resulting in the displacement of thousands of people across Pakistan. According to figures released by the (NDMA) National Disaster Management Authority, the deaths include 200 children, 117 women and 471 men, submerging over 1600 villages, displacing more than 1.1 million people. The floods have not only destroyed homes, schools, roads, and hospitals but have also torn apart families and communities that now stand in urgent need of help. The scale of destruction in provinces like Punjab and Khyber and Pakhtunkhwa is almost beyond comprehension. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been the worst hit-region in Pakistan, with torrential rains and flash floods killing more than 400 people, according to the Provincial Disasters Management Authority. Medical emergencies are rising rapidly, and health workers on the ground are facing a shortage of essential medicines and clean water. Relief camps are overcrowded and under-resourced, while the threat of disease looms large, especially for children and the elderly. These are not just numbers, they represent real people, real suffering, and real lives that hang in the balance. Punjab province is on high alert and 19000 people have been evacuated as rivers have surged again with a new monsoon spell. A 7km (4 mile) lake was created in Gilgit, in northern Pakistan, after a Mountain mudslide on Friday. Facilitators, an Italy-based organization, is actively working in Pakistan together with local pastors and dedicated partners, we have been reaching out to those trapped in slavery, forced labor, and families devastated by persecution and loss. In times of crisis, including past natural disasters, we have stood with the suffering, offering help, hope, and healing. Today, as massive floods displace and devastate thousands more, we urgently appeal for your generous support. Your contribution can bring lifesaving aid to those who have lost everything. Join us in making a difference where it’s needed the most. Facilitators International is working closely with local partners to deliver emergency aid, food rations, clean drinking water, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and temporary shelters. But the truth is, we urgently need more resources to meet the overwhelming demand. The needs have far outgrown what current support can provide. Every day, more families arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They need food, medicine, shelter, and a sense of hope.
