My name is Tony and I am 18 years old, and I have an incredible opportunity to be able to go to a one-week evangelism training school in Huntington Beach, California. I will be headed out with the Burning Ones young adults to Circuit Riders Ministry School. The Burning Ones is a group of young adults whose heart is to bring the gospel everywhere. Our mission is to ignite a generation so in love and captivated by the presence of God through a culture of worship, discipleship, and intimacy with God and community. With this training, I'll be trained and equipped to be able to come back and reach and equip young adults in the New Orleans area, and ultimately continue to spread and share the gospel and love of Jesus. There are different tracks for this training. The tracks they are currently offering are Media, Music, and Messenger. I will be doing music with Greenhouse worship. Greenhouse is a prayer room movement extended from Circuit Riders, designed with the purpose of learning how to intimately host the presence of God. With that being said, I fully believe that the Lord will have me covered and I pray that you would be able to partner with me on this journey whether through prayer, fasting, or donations! MISSIONARY Seth Coffing DONATE Since the first moment my soul caught a glimpse of Jesus, I haven’t been able to look away. Knowing him has compelled me to lay down my life, pick up my cross, and bear anything I can for the sake of loving God and loving people. I wholeheartedly believe the greatest good in the world is God himself. To have God is to have everything. Because of that, I believe the best way I can love others is by encouraging them to walk in relationship with Jesus–unto his glory and their own satisfaction. In the past decade of aiming to do this, the Lord has increasingly placed on my heart the desire to intentionally seek out the unseen, marginalized, and abandoned. For a long time, I tried do this on my own and finance projects without any help. By the encouragement of a few mentors, I realize how much more can be accomplished when partnering with others. While many in the American church have the desire and resources to meet the needs of those who genuinely need help, few are able to find appropriate outlets because they do not live in the same communities or interact in the same social circles as people in need. The aim of this page is to bridge that gap and meet the physical needs alongside spiritual needs of those who are open to receive it. Those that know me know that I operate out of High Invitation and High Challenge. As the church, I believe we are called to step out in faith. By some trustworthy teachers and the Holy Spirit, I have grown to behold a few truths: Missions exist because worship doesn’t. I want to invite you fully into this calling. IT IS BETTER TO BE A SECULARIST OR AN ATHEIST AND CLAIM NOTHING OF GOD, THAN TO CLAIM GOD AND ENTER INTO THAT CLAIM HALFHEARTEDLY. Missions is a simple concept for me. There are only two sides. You’re either called to go down into the well or you’re called to hold the rope for those that go down. Either way, there should be scars on your hands. Where are your scars? What has it cost you to follow Jesus? The harvest is plentiful, family. The workers are few. Be one or support one. My current call is to support the workers abroad as I continue to disciple locally. Please join me in supporting the workers in the field. Refugee Foster Care: I NEED HELP This past year the Lord has called me to the licensing process for refugee foster care. While becoming licensed I realized that many kids would be coming from Spanish speaking countries and speak little to no English at all. In order to best support and love the kids in the refugee foster care system it became clear to me that I would need to learn Spanish. I had taken a couple years of Spanish my Freshman and Sophomore year of high school but did not take any classes in college so I have a long road ahead of me. To take this call seriously, I decided to leave my job of ten years and spend a few months learning in Guatemala. Some of you know that I had been fortunate to earn my Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and my Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Global Business while also being fast-tracked for executive leadership within the corporate world. This was not an easy decision at first but over time it became clear that the Lord was calling me to do this. Fortunately, I was able to start up a few side businesses in real estate over the past few years to supplement some of my income and cover the needed resources for my time away (Housing/food/etc.). Unfortunately, this is not enough income to cover all of the missionaries I currently support locally and abroad. I currently give $2,300 per month to trusted missionaries and organizations that I have personally taken the time to vet and build relationships with during my life. I would like to believe that I hold a pretty high standard for those I give to and do not do so haphazardly. This is where you come in. I NEED HELP. I can’t continue to give the entire $2,300 per month to missionaries and organizations that I had while I was working full-time and pay for all of my own expenses. Would you consider giving to help cover a portion of that money from December through March? I plan on returning to the United States in April and go back to working full-time. Other Projects you can donate to: Project 1: Church Building in Favela I had the honor of staying in the home of Marcus and Mariana Liotta who live in the poorest favela (slum) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They have been serving the people, preaching the gospel, and making disciples here for the past 8 years. They are completely out of space in their current building which is located in the center of the favela so it is impossible for them to meet all together as one church family at the same time. They have to rotate between days of the week for everyone to hear the word of God, worship, and take discipleship classes. Additionally, they are renting the current building that they use and the landlord keeps increasing the rent for them. The plan is to build a church building (that they own) in the heart of the slum with enough capacity for all of the people to meet together at the same time for fellowship, and to have a prayer room, a room for children’s ministry, a room for discipleship training and counseling, and a small room for music lessons. All of this can be done for the grand total of $40,000. In the US, a similar project would cost at least 20 times this amount. Our dollars can go further to help more people when they are used in a place of great poverty. To learn more about the people leading the church, please read below. Their Story: Their story is miraculous in today’s society. I’ll keep it brief but if you have more questions, please ask me (or them!). Marcus (who didn’t grow up in church) and Mariana (who grew up in church but wasn’t walking with the Lord) were living a wealthy and successful life together in their ritzy flat on a beautiful tourist beach on the edge of Rio de Janeiro. They were boyfriend and girlfriend and moved in together after meeting in a trendy night club. Marcus was making a lot of money as a talent agent for famous Brazilians and the two were traveling the world in a life of luxury. One night the Holy Spirit convicted Mariana of the life she was living, and so she planned to move out by the end of the week. She hadn’t told Marcus her plan yet, but she felt the need to go to a church service mid-week. Marcus thought she might be fibbing and going to see another guy so he said, “l’ll come with!”; Mariana obliged, and they went together to a night service offered by a local church. In that service, Marcus was cut to the heart so deeply by hearing the gospel for the first time was uncontrollably crying and gave his life over to Jesus. Over the next few months and years, they would learn together what it looks like to follow Jesus with their whole hearts because it was so new. Fast-forward a bit, and they were looking for their next vacation spot in the Caribbean. While on searching on Google Earth for a good snorkeling spot (because they were going to stay on an island with a nice beach and then fly back and forth between other islands with good snorkeling spots), Marcus clicked on a magnifying glass that gave him a close view of some slums in Haiti. He was so taken back by this poverty that he was astonished. The Holy Spirit fixated Marcus’ heart on this poverty, and he felt like they needed to change their vacation plans to go there and serve those people instead of relaxing on beaches and snorkeling reefs. He never thought Mariana would go for it because she is such a “pretty girl who does not like getting dirty,” so he was nervous to share what the Lord had told him. When he told her, much to his surprise, she said, “Absolutely! If that’s where the Lord is leading we should follow him.” And off they went. While they were in the slums in Haiti, the Lord broke their heart for the poor and abandoned. Upon their return to Brazil, they began organizing a full effort to support the contacts they made in Haiti and help the people of the slum. A few weeks later the massive 2010 earthquake struck the Island of Haiti. At that moment all of their contacts were lost and any way to communicate with them. They were devastated. They had no way to help. They felt the call to care for the poor but no direction. Within the next few weeks a local Brazilian heard their story and made them aware of the favelas that exist in Rio. They had never known of the extreme poverty that existed in their own backyard. They began working in the poorest favela of all of Brazil and soon felt called to move. They left their lucrative jobs and luxurious lifestyle, and they sold their downtown flat in Rio. Using the money they had from selling everything, they found a place of their own on the edge of the slum and planted a church among the poorest of the poor. By faithfulness and passion, they have made a life for themselves among the people they now consider family. Over the last 8 years they have been able to learn how to best serve these people. In Marcus’ words; “It’s not by handouts and pity charity, but by love and discipleship and sharing the word of God.” While they still meet the essential needs of those in the community when they can, they offer care and mentorship above all. They offer the hope that is found in Christ alone. They offer new life by the Spirit for those who will listen. I’m fairly shrewd in my giving and don’t just throw money carelessly to the wind. This is a family that I trust with everything in me. Please join me in helping them care for the poor and preaching the true gospel of Jesus. Recent Project 2: Syria Border Church Aid A church stationed along the southern border between Syria and Jordan provides physical and spiritual care for Syrian people fleeing the war that has ripped apart their families, homes, and lives. I have personally spent time at this church and witnessed our brothers and sisters holding firm to the gospel and walking in the fruit of it faithfully. I will be continuing to give a financial gift with the church that will help finance them in handing out clothes and food packages to people who have had everything taken from them. This creates an open door to visit them and share the Gospel. Missionary Abby & James Walalohun DONATE Hi! We are Abby and James Walalohun and we serve in Indonesia with YWAM Malang in their children’s home ministry, ABBA! ABBA is a nonprofit ministry run out of YWAM Malang that currently houses and cares for 25 children. This ministry helps children coming from various at-risk situations find their identity and purpose in God while being cared for in a safe, loving environment. The staff team consists of several full-time volunteers that work hard to provide a healthy family environment for the children to thrive in. Missionary DONATE Hello everyone! I am a student and missionary! I met Jesus in 2019 and it's been the most beautiful journey with Him since. I joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) fall of 2023 and have completed the missionary training and outreach(DTS), which was absolutely life changing, and am now continuing to fulfill my calling wherever the Lord leads. I have now spent 3 months in Central Asia, working with YWAM and other missions organizations, traveled to the Netherlands and completed a 3 month Bible school(DBS), then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to join the Fire & Fragrance team there! I have made a two year commitment with them, and am currently halfway through the first year. I am in Central Asia now for the next few months, leading a team this time! Our ministry consists of partnering with the long term missionaries here as we are a short term team. We serve them, helping in the ministries they’ve already established, we also meet people outside of the church here and get to know them, then we share about Jesus and connect them with the local church. Our ministry looks different every week, but those are our main ministries. I am stoked I get to give all of my time to Jesus, that my whole job is literally sharing about Jesus, discipleship and traveling to nations that the Lord has gripped my heart for. Missionary Thiago Araujo DONATE My name is Thiago Rocha de Araujo. I am Brazilian, originally from Rio de Janeiro. In 2022, I discovered DTS, a missionary training school offered by YWAM Richmond. Since the day I attended this school, I have seen God guiding my life to the center of His will, because in addition to DTS, God allowed me to attend an English school and also a Bible school (DBS Discipleship Bible School). And at this Bible school I received a Word from God that He would be taking me to the nations as a teacher, pastor and prophet. Since then, in addition to serving YWAM Richmond as a worker, I have been in constant prayer to be in the position that God has called me, because the desire to be a DBS teacher is in my heart, serving the Kingdom of God as an itinerant teacher. My purpose is to improve myself in biblical teaching and with that, I pray to God that He will open doors in my life, where I can also serve. At the beginning of 2024, God gave me an opportunity to develop my ministry, where He allowed me to do a master's degree in ministry at the University of Carolina (USA). Since then, I have been working at YWAM Richmond as an assistant and also specializing as a Bible teacher. Missionary Taesol Lee DONATE God came to me as someone who was living without knowing who God or Jesus was. He met with me, held my hand, and called me to be a missionary for North Korea. I thank God, who chose me before I was born on this earth and who called me as His child and as a missionary for North Korea. I’m a North Korean defector who moved to South Korea in 2016. During my defection process, I first heard the words "God" and "Jesus" in a Thai prison. At first, I thought God was just a myth or a legend, but after seeing the unwavering service of a Korean missionary for four months, I began to wonder about the God I saw who was working within the missionary's heart. This became the seed. However, after settling in Korea, I was attending church but living a life where I was drifting away from God and having my heart stolen and hurt by the world. My identity was shaken because of the misunderstandings and prejudices people had towards me and I blamed God for the layers of hardship that had come upon me, which resulted in me feeling resentful and crying out. Two years ago, I developed a brain tumor and was unable to find the strength or the reason to live. During this time, my pastor recommended that I go do a DTS (Discipleship Training School) at YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Switzerland. Since I needed rest for health reasons and was grasping at any straw I could find, I ended up deciding to go to Lausanne, Switzerland. At this time, God answered my resentful prayers, allowing me to see how He had taken care of me, how much He loved me, and had been waiting for me to look to Him instead of the world. God also gave me the realization that I still have family and friends in North Korea, and that if I, who knows their pain and suffering better than anyone, do not pray for them, who then will pray for that place? Through this, I realized that my calling is for North Korean missions. ... After completing the DTS (Discipleship Training School, which runs for five months), DBS (Discipleship Bible School, which runs for three months), and MLD (Ministry Leadership Development, which runs for three months) here in Lausanne, I began serving as a staff member in March. Here is a brief introduction to my one-year life here at YWAM Lausanne: DTS (Discipleship Training School): This is an intensive discipleship training course that’s a foundational school at YWAM, to train students to become disciples of Christ through 12 weeks of lectures and 8 weeks of outreach. Through DTS, I had the privilege of having a deep encounter with God, and, through the outreach, I realized how valuable and gracious it is to live a life of sharing the Gospel. DBS (Discipleship Bible School): Through this 12-week course, we were taught to see and discover God's revelation through reading the living Word of God and how to draw closer and develop an intimate relationship with Him. During DBS, I was able to read through the entire Bible for the first time and meet with the God who came to us through our work, ministry, and the words of the Bible. During this time, I deeply realized that the path I must walk and live out is the path of following Jesus. MLD (Ministry Leadership Development): This 12-week school trained us on what we need to be prepared for to serve, that we need to humble ourselves and be like Jesus, who washed the disciples' feet, and learn how to be ministers who lead the little sheep to Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Through MLD, I realized how much I lack and need training to live as a Christian and missionary. Starting Ministry (DTS Staff): I’m currently in the process of preparing to serve the DTS that’s starting in early April which will be conducted in both Korean and English and will have around 50 students who will attend for a 6-month training journey. As this is my first ministry role, I have many shortcomings and am nervous. Still, I am preparing my body and mind in prayer to love each student more, remembering the staff members who have prayed for me and helped me to stand confidently before God. "Beware that you don't look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father." - Matthew 18:10 Although I know I am inadequate to be in this serving position, I hope to move forward by loving more and remembering all those who have been channels of God's love in my life, allowing me to be able to stand here today. I’m sure you’re asking ‘Why is he receiving training in Switzerland when his calling is for North Korean missions?’, so I will go ahead and answer that question. It was only after coming to Switzerland that I first realized there are so many people around the world who are praying for North Korea. I also realized that it was shameful for me to have tried to erase and hide the memory of being born there while I was living in South Korea. Since our church is putting a lot of effort into North Korean missions and because many missionaries around me are serving in missions for North Korea, I thought that missions only meant going to the mission field to serve, to North Korean defector schools, or to China for ministry. But I repented of this mindset and realized that what comes first is being trained to be ready to run whenever and wherever God calls me and to know His heart. Like Daniel, I pray daily, embracing North Korea in my heart, and partner with many friends around the world who also have a heart for North Korea. Through reading the Scriptures, I also realized that a lot of training and growth is needed before I can stand in that position. Just as God trained Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and David for a long time before working through them, I discovered that this place is the training ground that God has prepared for me. Please pray that I may know God, know His will, and become one who resembles His character so that I can fulfill the role entrusted to me by God after being grown and trained. Prayer Requests: Please pray for my character. When I abide by grace and thanksgiving, I can love and serve others. But I am lacking, and I often forget to be gracious and thankful. As well as that, instead of God's character, I tend to treat people with my wounds, prejudices, and the instability that is deep within me. Please pray that I may abide in grace and approach each person with God's character, not my own inadequate character. Please pray that I do not become prideful. As the Scriptures say, the position of serving is not one of exaltation but of humility. Please pray that I may serve with humility. During the three months of reading the Bible, I seem to have made reading and knowing the Bible my idol because I did it more diligently than anyone else. Instead of letting the Word sink into my life to become more like Jesus, I found myself boasting and enjoying teaching. I repented a lot. Please pray that I may strive to serve with humility, not pride. Please pray for God's provision. There were many times when I looked at my bank balance and wanted to give up training and living a life of faith and just return to Korea to work. Although I had decided to live as a missionary after knowing God's love, I still would lose my heart to money. When I felt ashamed of myself for this, I realized through the book of Exodus that beautiful Switzerland is my "wilderness." Please pray and partner with me so that I may be thankful for being with God, remembering the grace He has given, and becoming someone who can pass through the "wilderness" journey steadfastly, believing that God will provide for us as our Provider. Missionary Elijah Belay DONATE Hey! My name is Elijah Belay and I'm a missionary. I grew up going to Bethel Church in Redding, Ca, where I fell in love with the presence of God. I learned to follow and obey His voice and He took me to YWAM Kona where I got my calling to Missions. As I followed the Lord, He has developed a burning passion for me to see Gen Z and Alpha to be lit on FIRE for Jesus. God has also given me a heart for Estonia, to see revival sweep the country. God has spoken clearly through others and to me that I should go back to Kona in January and staff a Fire and Fragrance DTS. This would look like me doing a 3 month Leadership track, where I would be developed not only as a leader but also as a person. I will also be growing in intimacy with God.
