Missionary Carla Foord DONATE Hi everyone My name is Carla and I am 24 years old. I am currently in Potchefstroom and serving full time at Fire and Fragrance. I did my discipleship training school this year and the Lord marked my heart for missions. He called me to be a minister to His people and to partner with Him to set captives free from chains that have been holding them back from stepping into who and what God has made them to be. I said yes to His invitation and felt called to join a ministry called Woven.This specific ministry, which falls under mercy ministries, has three phases namely, Evangelism, Discipling, and Training/Equipping (in order to get them off the street). In this ministry, our team is dedicated to help women break free from the cycle of prostitution, and provide them with the support they need to rebuild their lives. We’re currently working with four women, who we have assisted to get off of the streets. This ministry was pioneered last year and we are still in the beginning stages of developing a product line. The women were taught how to sew scrunchies and it has been incredible to witness how they have grown in their sewing skills as well as in their identity as daughters of God. All of the products we sell are handmade by them, with the goal of providing a way to earn a dignified income. This ministry also goes out every week to the same corner in town where women usually go to work at night. We share the gospel with them and the love of Christ. We have developed sweet friendships with the women and have seen many of them accepting Jesus in their hearts. During the week we have bible studies with the women in prostitution as well as a men’s bible study. We spend time in the Word and build relationship with them. Our goal with the weekly bible study is to create a space where they can encounter the love of God and be transformed in their hearts and minds to get a better understanding of who God is and who He has created them to be. We also give out bibles to those who are in need. Although this has been a hard decision to make, I really feel like this is where God is leading me. It is such an honor to say yes because I know that He is a good shepherd and He leads me to green pastures. Missionary John Gabriel Luther DONATE Hi! My name is John Gabriel Luther. I am a missionary serving with the organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Originally from North Carolina, USA, I've traveled to countries and cities all around the world, spending most of my ministry time in New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, and Montana, USA. The heart of every YWAM base is to “know God and make Him known,” and this is primarily done through walking with young adults as they grow in their faith, most commonly through a Discipleship Training School (DTS). This equipping goes even further with secondary bible schools offered to those who want to learn more about the God they serve through His word. These secondary schools in particular are what I have fallen in love with, and have found myself called to be a bible teacher and disciple-maker- no matter where in the world I might call home for the season. Though my original missional commitment was to New Zealand, following the Lord has taken me across the Pacific—especially to Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. I am based out of the States at the moment, and I am eager to engage with the Body of Christ in my home country. I believe deeply in meeting people in their own culture and language, and I’m passionate about helping others know the Bible in its full context. I’m so excited to be part of what God is doing in these places! YWAM is a volunteer ministry, which means I rely on support—both spiritual and financial—from others. John Williamson Journey to Recovery John & Jani Williamson DONATE John’s Continuing Journey to Recovery Your Help is Greatly Needed Friends of John and Jani Williamson 2025 In April of this year, John underwent a surgical biopsy at St. Jude Hospital to determine if the small lesion on his left kidney was cancerous. Thankfully the results from the biopsy showed that John was entirely cancer-free. However post-surgery, John was left with a stubborn drug-resistant urinary tract infection that left him in considerable pain and discomfort. Unable to gain the upper hand on the infection with customary antibiotic treatments, the infection spread into his spinal cord rendering him partially paralyzed in both his arms and legs. He returned to St. Jude Hospital for a week where John started on a rigorous course of intravenous antibiotics which have only helped to a small degree. An updated diagnosis of John’s condition has revealed that he has a rare condition called Osteomyelitis of the cervical spine affecting the C5 and C6 vertebrae. This is a serious and potentially debilitating infection of the bone, cartilaginous endplates, and intervertebral discs in the cervical region. Since John’s recovery necessitates a long-term treatment plan to fight this infection and regain his mobility, he was moved into a rehabilitation hospital to receive treatment and physical therapy. He is still completely bed-ridden––he is currently struggling to walk and has limited feeling in his hands. The road to full mobility and recovery will be a difficult and lengthy one for John––mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Jani, his loving wife, has steadfastly stood beside John during this time, but cannot always be with him since she needs to work. The financial burden of this road to recovery—medical and hospital bills are becoming overwhelming. It’s not easy for John and Jani to ask for help. however, with their consent, we’ve created this space for people who feel moved to help and support them. Professional Community Leader (Ages 25 – 40+) I provide pastoral leadership and discipleship to a growing community of young professionals. This includes: • Weekly one-on-one pastoral meetings. • Spiritual mentoring and biblical counsel. • Prayer and personal discipleship. • Leading a weekly small group. • Facilitating church-wide prayer gatherings. • Ongoing relational support. 2. Leader of the Worship Ministry As a professionally trained musician with studies in music and theology in the United States and Canada, I also co-lead our Worship Ministry. My responsibilities include: • Leading worship during Sunday services. • Supporting the spiritual and creative vision of the team. • Training and mentoring musicians and vocalists. • Overseeing weekly worship rehearsals. • Leading worship during prayer gatherings and on the regular Sundays. This dual role allows me to serve both pastorally and creatively, strengthening the spiritual culture of the church while investing in its people. The Financial Structure My current position is supported through a two-day stipend provided by the church. As a mid-sized congregation, the church is able to fully compensate our Facility Pastor and provide me with this part-time stipend. However, in full transparency, the stipend does not cover my essential living expenses — it does not fully cover my rent. Although the ministry responsibilities extend across most of the week, the financial structure does not reflect this.
