Missionary John Arellano DONATE Hello, My Name is John Arellano and I'm a missionary with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). I am staffing a missions school that goes by the name of Fire and Fragrance in the beautiful Islands of Hawaii. It is the largest Discipleship Training School (DTS) in YWAM. We focus on helping students understand the character of Jesus and walk them through a 3 month process of learning how to preach the Gospel and fall in love with God. We then embark on another 3 months of Outreach where me and another staff will take a team of students to a specific country where they will then use their newly learned tools and make Jesus known. We transform young and old men and women to become radical followers of God. My name is Ashley Diederiks, and my husband, Jaco, and I are missionaries serving in Potchefstroom, South Africa, with Fire & Fragrance South Africa. We are raising our two young children, Hans (born January 16, 2021) and Amelia (born November 14, 2022), while continuing to say yes to Jesus and the call He has placed on our family to see revival and lasting kingdom transformation across South Africa and the African continent. Here is a bit of how we got here and what we are currently doing in South Africa. I first encountered missions in 2017 during my Discipleship Training School, when I went on outreach to Uganda. It was there that the Lord ignited a deep love for missions and for Africa. After DTS, I joined staff and later led an outreach to the Philippines, where we saw God move in powerful ways and even had the privilege of helping plant a church in the upstairs room of a strip club in the middle of the red-light district—one of those moments that forever marked my faith and my understanding of the gospel’s reach. Jaco and I met through Fire & Fragrance and spent several years serving in Kona, Hawaii, where we helped pioneer and develop a training school focused on revival, reformation, and biblical worldview. During that season, we were trained, equipped, and prepared to eventually plant and contextualize this work in South Africa. In 2022, we transitioned to South Africa and helped run the first Revival & Reformation school with Fire & Fragrance South Africa. Since then, our roles have continued to grow. Today, we are deeply involved in leadership development, discipleship, and training schools, equipping young leaders and missionaries locally and across multiple nations in Africa. Jaco plays a key role in teacher training and discipleship initiatives, helping equip educators and leaders to teach from a biblical worldview, and he also serves on the leadership team as an elder at our missions base here in South Africa. Alongside training schools, we partner with local churches, campus ministries, prayer and worship initiatives, evangelism efforts, literacy and education projects, and broader missions expressions throughout South Africa. We have seen firsthand that God is moving powerfully in this nation, and we continue to believe the prophetic words spoken over South Africa—that it is a gateway nation for the gospel to be released into the rest of Africa. We truly believe the time is now to train and equip local and indigenous leaders who will bring revival into their own cultures and see lasting kingdom transformation in every sphere of society. Missionary Freeman Vander Lugt DONATE Hello, my name is Freeman Vander Lugt and for the next two years I will be a full time missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Rogaland. This fall I am staffing my first Discipleship Training School (DTS). Helping run the DTS is my main ministry while in Norway but during the off season, when the Schools are not in session, there is still plenty to do. I will be participating in the local ministry as well as working on base through various types of practical work. The main reason for what I do is described in the first two YWAM core values “know God and make Him known”. I will continue to strengthen my own personal relationship with the Lord and by doing so be better equipped to disciple others. My goal is to offer the students with a rich experience where they see first hand the body of Christ and find their purpose and identity in our Heavenly Father. This winter I will co-lead a short term mission to the Middle East! Our team of three staff and five students will bring Gods kingdom and story to the Nations. MISSIONARY Mark & Dayle Annand DONATE Mark and Dayle grew up in Minnesota and were married in 1993. After doing youth ministry for about 10 years, they moved to Antigua, Guatemala in 2005 with their children to help pioneer a mission base. They joined Youth With A Mission a year later and were with YWAM until September of 2023. In Guatemala they were involved in street evangelism, homeless ministry, heading up teams, and teaching evangelism. In 2016, Mark and Dayle moved to Japan to work with YWAM Tokyo. They started an evangelistic website there and an evangelism training ministry. They moved back to Minnesota in 2020 to work full-time with YWAM Minneapolis, and then in late 2023 they made the transition from YWAM to work with an evangelism ministry called Street Level and with MACHE (Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators). They also lead short term mission trips. Mark is an equipping evangelist with a passion to see the church activated to share the Gospel in their everyday lives. Dayle loves doing discipleship with women and is the outreach director and podcast host for MACHE. Missionary Milena Carvalho da Silva DONATE Hey guys, my name is Milena, I am Brazilian. At the end of 2022, God called me to the missions through a prophetic conference. In April 2023, I said YES and sold everything I had to invest in the kingdom. I did my DTS (Disciple Training School ) at YWAM Kona. I did my outreach in Indonesia, and there God called me to be a full-time, long-term missionary. God spoke to me about this closed nation where 85% of the people are Muslim and only 10% are Christians, and there are very few missionaries. I had a powerful experience with the Holy Spirit while I was in an Islamic school, watching the young people pray at 4am without understanding what they were doing, God spoke to me strongly: Milena, they are praying to a God who does not exist. And God reminded me of the verse: How will they know about me if there is no one to preach? Then God called me gently. He said: Daughter, do you want to help me cooperate in spreading my love and my message? And that's when I understood my calling and said yes to Him. I'm currently staff at YWAM Los Angeles, and I'm hoping to be sent to Indonesia soon. The plan is to be part of a pioneer team that's just beginning. I'll first learn their language, train and disciple new believers , teach the Bible in English, training missionaries, visit prisons with ministries of the word of God, go to the refugee community to build relationships with them and pray for them. But for that to happen, I need to raise the initial amount of USD 2,350. Since it's a closed nation, I'm specifically raising funds for students. Micah grew up in Chuluota, Florida, and has been serving in full-time missions since 2020. Grace joined the mission field in 2022, and together we have dedicated our lives to following Jesus and making Him known across the nations. We are about to be married on September 4, 2025! Missionary Lis Peralta DONATE Hi, I’m Lis (Lismerlin) Peralta. I’m the mission teams coordinator for FIGHT ministries in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. Our mission is to provide hope and healing to underaged females victimized by human trafficking. If you are like me, when you hear “human trafficking” what pops up in your mind is “well, I know that exists, but not here, not in my city.” However, organizations like FIGHT shine light on the fact that human trafficking is happening now and it's closer than we imagine. In my role at FIGHT I use the experience I gained while living in Memphis TN, as I pursued my degree on Christian Leadership and my involvement in various multicultural ministries, to help our short-time missionaries when they come down to work alongside us. Not only that, I get to pour the love of Jesus every day on our Perlas (pearls). Another way I’m using my skills for the Kingdom is by helping my parents with their ministry. They lead a church as well as a Kid’s Hope Center. My role includes constant trips home, preparing materials, organizing activities, and being the connection between our ministry and its supporters. Missionary Andrew & Chloe Imisides DONATE Hey there! We are Andrew and Chloe Imisides and we are currently serving in missions at YWAM Sunshine Coast, Australia. We have been on staff here for about 5/6 years now. A little bit about us: we both love the ocean, river swims, camping, a good book, spending quality time with friends and family and adventuring. Andrew loves surfing (he is always on the look out for a good surf spot), gardening and Chloe loves poetry, craft, cooking and swimming in the ocean. Our YWAM journey so far: For the first few years on staff, we were on a team with the DTS (Discipleship Training School) where we discipline and equip young people in their personal faith and also to share their faith with others! DTS is a 3 month lecture phase (learning about God) and a 2 month outreach phase (putting into practice what they have learned). We equip the students with the tools to know God and make God known in whatever sphere God calls them to after DTS. We have had the privilege of leading two mission trips in our time with DTS and we loved every moment. The next couple years we were a part of the SBS (School of Biblical Studies) teaching the Bible to train and equip young people in knowing the Word, how to study it and share it. This consisted of prepping teachings, marking work, giving constructive feedback, and event planning. We are passionate about discipleship and the Bible, so this was an incredible season to serve in this space! Currently, we have been on the base leadership team (for about one year now) helping lead the base in the day-to-day. This looks like many things such as staff development, leading staff teams, big picture decisions, sharing vision, leading base worship times and staff meetings, writing up policies, admin and bringing solutions to problems. Bottom line: we help run the base from behind the scenes and from the front (sometimes) and our job is essentially to make sure everyone else can do their jobs well. We are so honored and privileged that we get to do this. We love helping equip the called and are passionate about sending young people across the globe to make God known!
