Hey there!
We are Andrew and Chloe Imisides and we are currently serving in missions at YWAM Sunshine Coast, Australia. We have been on staff here for about 5/6 years now.
A little bit about us: we both love the ocean, river swims, camping, a good book, spending quality time with friends and family and adventuring. Andrew loves surfing (he is always on the look out for a good surf spot), gardening and Chloe loves poetry, craft, cooking and swimming in the ocean.
Our YWAM journey so far:
For the first few years on staff, we were on a team with the DTS (Discipleship Training School) where we discipline and equip young people in their personal faith and also to share their faith with others! DTS is a 3 month lecture phase (learning about God) and a 2 month outreach phase (putting into practice what they have learned). We equip the students with the tools to know God and make God known in whatever sphere God calls them to after DTS.
We have had the privilege of leading two mission trips in our time with DTS and we loved every moment.
The next couple years we were a part of the SBS (School of Biblical Studies) teaching the Bible to train and equip young people in knowing the Word, how to study it and share it. This consisted of prepping teachings, marking work, giving constructive feedback, and event planning. We are passionate about discipleship and the Bible, so this was an incredible season to serve in this space!
Currently, we have been on the base leadership team (for about one year now) helping lead the base in the day-to-day. This looks like many things such as staff development, leading staff teams, big picture decisions, sharing vision, leading base worship times and staff meetings, writing up policies, admin and bringing solutions to problems. Bottom line: we help run the base from behind the scenes and from the front (sometimes) and our job is essentially to make sure everyone else can do their jobs well.
We are so honored and privileged that we get to do this. We love helping equip the called and are passionate about sending young people across the globe to make God known!
