My name is Kayla Warner, and I will be beginning my freshman year at Pepperdine University this fall. The first time I visited Pepperdine in the spring of 2024, I instantly fell in love with every aspect of the school. I was in awe of the incredible study-abroad opportunities, the theology course offerings, and the passion of the people I met—but most of all, I was captivated by how clearly Christ was present throughout the entire campus. My faith is the most important part of my life, and I desire to attend a university that will both nurture and challenge my faith.

This summer, I had the opportunity to attend Pepperdine’s CrossWays experience, and the nine days I spent there were truly life-changing. Truth was spoken over me daily, I formed life-giving relationships, and my perspective was deeply challenged through serving on the streets of Hollywood. For the first time, I began to see the world through His eyes instead of my own. God showed up in powerful ways—providing immeasurably more than I could have ever asked or imagined—and I believe His power is actively at work within me (Ephesians 3:20). I cannot wait to fully immerse myself in all that Pepperdine has to offer.
