Psalm 27:4 Hi, my name is Karen Brodigan and I am an Intercessory Missionary at East Bay Prayer Furnace in Livermore CA. From my earliest days of walking with Jesus, I knew this Psalms 27:4 call in my heart, to spend my life on Him. Through every valley and dark place, through every failing. I had a cry deep within that knew the only place for me was in His presence. My heart knew a deep call that was placed there by God Himself ... a calling that couldn't settle for anything less than all of Him. For years God has burned the vision of David's Tabernacle into my spirit. I never thought that I would actually get to walk it out. He linked that vision with a burning desire to equip and to impart to this generation the knowledge of God's heart and His passionate heart for His bride. All the while, unbeknownst to me, He was preparing me to step into the place of an Intercessory Missionary at East Bay Prayer Furnace. Through the years prophetic ministers have spoken over my life, you are: "a watchman on the wall", "a worshiper with the heart of David", "He will cause your voice to rise above with a prophetic edge," "You will see powers of darkness broken and you will see deliverance in the land ... and you will see the glory of the Lord spreading like a sea". Many years ago, a prophet spoke that there would come a time that I would begin to add to the finances of our home "through something that came so natural and was so enjoyable that I would be amazed to get paid for it." As God sovereignly opened the door for me to come on staff here at East Bay Prayer Furnace, these prophetic words began to come to my remembrance and to fall into place. And I realized, "THIS is THAT!" He is faithful to fulfill all His word! East Bay Prayer Furnace opened in September 2006 and I came on staff early 2007 to serve as a worship leader, singer, and teacher. We have seen hundreds of youth (and adults) come through our internships through the years, growing and extending their roots into the love of God and finding their place of intimacy through prayer with Him and then being shot out as forerunners in the earth. I have continued to walk in this vision and currently spend approximately 20 hours weekly in the prayer room, praying, leading worship, leading prayer, teaching, and adoring Jesus. It is vital to have a team of supporters around me who regularly pray and give. This assignment cannot be done alone. Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known. DTS is a 6 month program that teaches 18-25 year olds about a relationship and friendship with Jesus, missions, living in community, and so much more. During DTS it is split into two sections. A lecture phase where there is teaching and an outreach phase where the students go on a three month mission to around the world. My goal during this time is to see youth learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Teach them about missions and take them on a two and a half month mission trip. Missionary Josiah Teeple DONATE Hi! My name is Josiah and I love Jesus! My life has been transformed by the gospel and the love of Jesus. I serve as a full-time missionary with the EveryHeart Movement based in Grand Rapids, Michigan! The mission of EveryHeart is to see every heart MET by the love of Jesus. Then with that very same love be SENT out to families, communities and to the nations! With EveryHeart, my primary role is in the Discipleship Training School (DTS). I have the privilege of leading a house of young men, walking alongside them as they discover who God created them to be and grow in intimacy with Him. This also means traveling on summer tours—preaching the gospel, hosting God’s presence, and seeing lives changed on the streets of America. I also serve in Operations, which involves the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the movement running—things like cleaning, maintenance, and stewarding our spaces with excellence. MISSIONARY Jeff & Katie Luehm DONATE Hi All! In 2018, we moved back to El Salvador, where we had previously served in the Peace Corps from 2007 to 2009. With backgrounds in education, psychology, and social work, our passion has always been empowering vulnerable children and families. Scripture’s resounding cry of God’s heart for the orphaned has impacted us deeply and inspired us to action. Over the past couple of years, we have collaborated with various organizations who are involved in caring for orphaned, abandoned, and abused children here in El Salvador. We have worked closely with Project RED, an amazing organization that walks alongside families of children who lived in orphanages and have been reintegrated with their biological families. We also regularly visit several local orphanages, preparing and implementing activities for the children, training staff, connecting them with resources and information, and sharing the love of Christ. Although we have worked to equip these organizations with tools for best practice, we also recognize that institutions are not the ideal environment for a child. Both social science and Scripture affirm that children grow best in families and we dream of a future where every child would know the love of a family. Ultimately, we believe the local church is God’s solution to the global orphan crisis, and we are actively seeking ways to better equip churches to respond to the needs of the families in their communities. Our long term vision is to partner with local churches and the Salvadoran child protection system to recruit, train, and support other foster families. So much of what you hear about El Salvador these days is bad news, and the situation, especially for vulnerable children and youth, can sometimes feel hopeless. But, we can testify that in the midst of poverty and suffering and violence, The Savior is here at work, bringing Good News, writing a new story of redemption and hope and growth, and we are thrilled to join in this work. Missionary Niyah Simpkins DONATE Hello! :) My name is Niyah Simpkins and for six months I was doing a Discipleship Training School with a missional group based out of California called Circuit Riders. I was trained and sent out as a missionary and my heart was set even more on fire for missions! I did outreach across colleges and high schools in California, Nevada, and Arizona. Not only did I see God continually move and speak in so many ways, my heart was stirred and I was activated even more in the gifts He has given me. Serving in this capacity was so fulfilling for me! The Lord saved my life around middle school. I felt like I had no purpose and had no real joy at all; BUT GOD. The Lord gave me hope and saved me and it was only possible because of HIM. There are so many lost people in this world who don’t know they have a Heavenly Father Who cares for them. As I was a part of Circuit Riders over those six months, my heart began to burn even more for their mission: “SAVE THE LOST, REVIVE THE SAVED, TRAIN THEM ALL”. The Lord continually led me back to Circuit Riders and I am so excited to say I have the opportunity to be on staff with them as a full time missionary!! I know as I step into this the Lord is going to show me so much and reveal to me more about Who He is; but I can’t do this alone.
