MISSIONARY Roland & Ingeborg Bahozi DONATE We are Roland and Ingeborg Bahozi, together with our son, Seth, we live in Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Congo is a beautiful country, but it also has many problems. There is a lot of poverty, violence and rape. We started the organization Action Uruma. Uruma means mercy or compassion in Swahili. It is our vision to be a family to the children and youth that don’t have one; orphans, street children and children without a functioning family. In our care we focus on three things: education, health care and discipleship. We started a primary school in a village that has gone through a lot of violence. Through education, the children have a chance to break the circle of poverty. We also teach them who God is so that in the future, these children will become leaders in this country who lead according to God’s heart. Besides that, we focus on health care. Ingeborg is a pediatrician and we have the passion to help children in need. There are children dying unnecessarily of treatable conditions. We want to bring a change by starting a medical clinic for mothers and children in the slum area of Goma. Last we also focus on discipleship. Let children become part of our family, through which they receive love, comfort and care. Our primary motivation is our faith in God; He is a loving father that gives us the example. He gave His son so that we can become part of His family. We would love to join hearts and join hands in our work and vision. Missionary Kayden Dahl DONATE Hello friends and family!! I am Kayden Dahl. I am currently a full time missionary. I am a part of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Amsterdam. I am a part of the DBS (Discipleship Bible School). In DBS, we get to read through the entire Bible with community. We have the opportunity to discuss topics, ask questions, and share thoughts. We also receive teaching on every book. Through the lectures we are given historical and cultural context, explore literary genres and the main themes of the Bible. We follow the redemptive plan of God from Genesis to Revelation. During my DBS, my relationship with God and how I viewed Him was completely transformed! Now, I wish to help others grow closer to God just as my staff did for me. In order to do so, I will have to rely on the generosity and support of others. MISSIONARY John & Laurie Elliot DONATE My name is John Elliot (Canadian). My wife Laurie (American) and I have been in Christian service in Japan since 1979, first with a mission organization, and since 2018 with The Japan Evangelical Church Association (JECA). We have spent most of that time in Ajigasawa, a small west coast town in Aomori Prefecture, on the northern tip of Honshu. JECA is a fellowship of some 200 independent churches, spread over the entire length of Japan. JECA is theologically conservative and Bible-based. Ajigasawa Gospel Church was opened in 1961 by a missionary. Missionaries served here for 4 years, then the small group was handed over to the care of a JECA church in the nearby city of Goshshogawara. This church asked us to help. We moved to Ajigasawa in 1985 and took over the small house church. In 1995, we were able to buy a plot of land, and build a church and pastor’s house. There are no other churches for a 50-60 minutes drive to the north and east, and for 3 hours to the south (west is the Sea of Japan). The population of our town and neighboring Fukaura, to the south, is 20,000. We have 9 members from the 2 towns, and some adherents as well. Not much to show for all those year’s work? Welcome to Japan. This is the reality here. So- What are we doing? Primarily, we stand by the faithful Christians and assist them in spiritual growth and evangelism. I did monthly children’s meetings in several locations for 20 years, until school amalgamations (from 12 schools to 2) made that impractical. We have special meetings and English classes to reach out to the community. Our 5 children attended local schools, and one of our daughters married a farmer here, so we have grandchildren in school now. My wife is preparing to write a book about passing on the faith to one’s family. This is an area of need here. The book will be her master’s thesis. She has many opportunities to reach out to students in her university. Our small congregation is unable to provide a full pastor’s salary. I do part-time work to supplement my income.
