Circuit Riders is a branch of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and we are all about saving the lost, reviving the saved, and training them all. I grew up as a missionary kid in Okinawa, Japan. Growing up in Church I always felt close to God and as a young child, I knew I was called to ministry but I never knew what that looked like until now. Peace Rehabilitation Center Mission Organization Donate Female children have little value in Nepali culture. Consequently, Shanta Sapkota experienced abuse and oppression from the day she was born simply because she was a girl. The abuse continued when her father arranged a marriage for her at age 12 and she went to live with her husband's family. At the age of 25, constantly in search of peace and love and feeling like an orphan, she ran away and found a Christian church where she also met her husband, Min. While reading her Bible, she became aware of God's promise for her in John 14:18, "I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you." and committed her life to serving him. In 1988, while on a Youth With a Mission discipleship outreach in India she learned of the girl trafficking problem and felt God giving her a vision to help. After some reluctance, she finally yielded herself, and with empty hands, told God she was all His. Shanta shared her vision with her church and Min and within a month received a former sex worker, desperately in need of love and care, dying of AIDS into their small apartment. Overwhelmed by the task before her, she was encouraged by Jesus' words in John 15:16, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you." In 1994, Shanta formed a Board and registered the ministry as an NGO with the Nepal Social Welfare Council with the focus of fighting and preventing sexual exploitation and trafficking in Nepal. In accordance with Nepal regulations, a legally registered auditor reviews the accounts annually. Shanta chose the name Peace Rehabilitation Center (PRC) because it was when she needed peace the most that God gave it to her. In the beginning, the work centered on an aftercare center, but the vision quickly grew to including prevention through community awareness raising, community non-formal education classes for girls and women and eventually income generation projects and border monitoring stations. She knows firsthand the importance of love and peace in the well-being of the many girls who call her "Mommy." Shanta says with confidence, "Although I will not always be here, PRC will never die because it is not my work but the Lord's." In recent years, the border monitoring stations have become the main program with 14 stations and nearly 70 staff. PRC is very thankful for the nearly one thousand girls and women rescued annually from human trafficking through their border stations and for this program being fully funded. BUT if this is all we do, we have greatly failed those we rescue! We have only rescued them to put them at risk of being trafficked once again. Why? Poverty fuels human trafficking and until we address this root cause, the numbers of those trafficked will continue to rise. The pandemic has caused an even higher jobless rate in Nepal and increased the number of people vulnerable to traffickers. A few years ago, PRC gave seed money and training through income generation projects like animal raising, gardening, jewelry making, tailoring and knitting but due to a lack of funds the program was discontinued. Through these programs, at-risk girls and trafficking survivors became financially independent. PRAY with us for the funds to start this greatly needed program again. Missionary Heidi Newswanger DONATE Hello! My name is Heidi and, in the spring of 2022, God called me out of my teaching job to something better He had planned for me. That fall I began my journey with Youth With A Mission as I completed my Discipleship Training School (DTS ) and He transformed my life. I was so impacted by what the Holy Spirit did in me that I wanted to join the Youth With A Mission movement and walk alongside others as God meets them, like He did for me. I have always had a heart for missions from a young age and each yes to Him has led to the start of an amazing journey together with God. Youth With A Mission was born out of a dream God gave founder Loren Cunningham of waves of young people going out from every nation to every nation. The organization was soon born and is now the largest youth sending organization with locations all over the world. Youth With A Mission is an interdenominational, international, and intergenerational movement with the desire to know God and make Him known. I have a passion to see the Gospel go forth in the nations and disciple others as they discover their true identity in Jesus. While on staff with Youth With A Mission I have the opportunity to help facilitate Discipleship Training Schools with other staff, lead small groups, disciple one on one and lead teams to the nations to share the good news of the Gospel. Missionary Leila Jackson DONATE My name is Leila Jackson and here is a brief story on how the Lord changed my life and what I’m going to do about it now. Here is how you can also be a part! I grew up in the church, but I didn't truly encounter Jesus until I was 14 years old at a youth service where I was filled with the Holy Spirit. That moment completely changed my life. Shortly after, I began struggling with severe anxiety, but as I intentionally pursued a deeper relationship with Jesus through prayer and His Word, He completely freed me from it. Since then, my passion has been to know Him more and help others experience the same transforming love and freedom that I found in Christ. This fall, I'll be serving as a full-time missionary with Circuit Riders, a missions organization dedicated to reaching the lost, discipling believers, and equipping the next generation to live on mission. I've committed to serving for two years, primarily in Huntington Beach, California, with opportunities for international outreach. As a House Leader, I'll have the privilege of discipling and mentoring students, leading small groups, providing pastoral care, and helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus. If given the opportunity to serve as a Tour Leader, I'll also help lead outreach teams to churches, campuses, and communities to boldly share the Gospel. My heart for this season is to see people encounter Jesus, grow into confident disciples, and discover their God-given purpose. I want to invest in raising up leaders who will continue making disciples and advancing God's Kingdom wherever He calls them. As I step into this calling, my prayer is to remain deeply rooted in my relationship with Jesus, always serving from a place of intimacy with Him and walking in humility.
