Missionary Delaney Gowin DONATE Hello, my name is Delaney Gowin. I attended the Discipleship Training School (DTS), Fire and Fragrance, at the Youth with a Mission (YWAM) base in Kona, Hawaii. YWAM is an organization that equips young individuals with tools and opportunities to spread the gospel and live a life fully surrendered to the Lord. As stated on YWAM’s website, “YWAM is a global movement, full of young people driven by a passion to know God and make Him known.” Before starting my DTS in the fall of 2019, I was anxious, lost, and unaware of what a relationship with Jesus looked like. Fire and Fragrance redirected my focus to the Lord and gave me tools to pursue Him in a deeper way. Through lectures and one-on-ones, the leaders taught me how to hear God's voice, spread the gospel, and the importance of studying the bible. I then discovered that it is He who defines me, sets me free, calls me to live higher, and is my strength when I am weak. During my DTS, the Lord placed the desire in my heart to spread the gospel to the youth of the world. A passion grew in me to see this next generation walk out in complete freedom with God. Missionary Shanyse Rushemeza DONATE Hi! I'm Shanyse, and I love to write (amongst other things). I grew up in Lancaster, PA (no, I'm not Amish). I grew up in a vibrant Latino household filled with music and constant dancing. I love being Puerto Rican. At any given moment you could hear Salsa, Merengue, Hip-Hop , Rap, R&B , Jazz or Pop music. At the age of 12 my life was radically transformed by Jesus. I was saved in my pre-teens and never looked back. Oh it has been a journey but I do not regret the decision I committed to. As I began to get involved in whatever I could at church, I fell in love with praise and worship. I loved writing, singing and learning anything pertaining to it. I began to write and record music and got exposed to a lot of different areas in the Christian music world. I have been leading worship since I was a teenager and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. I am a self-taught photographer and I have been doing photography for over 10 years now. It has been such a great ride! I love being creative and this is especially one of those great outlets. Later on in life I fell in love with a man by the name of John Rushemeza. After, waiting patiently and setting myself apart, I said yes to my African King. What a gift! We cannot wait to visit his country! I have a great desire to travel for the Lord. I have been on many missions trips through Light of Hope. Last November I just went on my 7th trip for the Lord. Soon I discovered my love for writing should be used for a greater purpose.I write about all kinds of things pertaining to life, struggles and finances. So here I am, being brave and with it all . Missionary Meliah Powell DONATE My name is Meliah, and I am a full-time missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Osaka, Japan. My passion as a missionary is to teach the Bible and equip others to study it effectively. My goal is to plant, grow, and multiply: to provide answers for those seeking the truth, to help Christians build a strong biblical foundation for life, and to equip other missionaries to share what they have learned. While pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Education in college, God began placing Japan on my heart. Initially, I thought I would go there to teach English. However, when I completed my Discipleship Training School (DTS) in 2021, God developed this dream from simply teaching English to becoming a missionary in Japan. That same year, I enrolled in YWAM’s Bible Core Course, which teaches students how to study the Bible using the inductive method. It was during this time that I felt led to establish something similar in Japan. As a nation where only 2% of the population identifies as Christian, Japan is in great need of the Gospel and Biblical training. My desire is to see Japan transformed by the same life-giving message that has brought me joy in learning and teaching. Because of this, I am partnering with the School of Biblical Studies at YWAM Takatsuki to plant, grow, and multiply the Gospel throughout Japan and to the ends of the earth (Matt. 28:19-20). To fulfill the calling God has placed on my life—to go and teach the Gospel—I need people who will partner with me financially to see the Great Commission fulfilled in Japan. Missionary Noe Patterson DONATE Hello friends and family! My name is Noelani Patterson (call me Noe!) and I am SO happy you’re here :) In January-June 2025 I completed a DTS (Discipleship Training School) with YWAM Kona Fire & Fragrance: Least Reached and the Lord has completely changed my life through this experience! I met the Lord in this last season in such a new and special way. He has transformed my heart and shaped my mind to see the world from a heavenly perspective rather than my own. Through quiet time with Him, godly community, studying the word, deep moments of intimate worship, and incredible leadership, He has refined me deeply from the inside out. I am not the same person I was when I first got off that plane in Kona in January. His kindness and constant pursuit of me and others has touched my heart in ways I cannot even describe. I am MADLY in love with Jesus! He has absolutely changed my life. The last 6 months have been nothing short of a testimony of His faithfulness to His promises. HE IS A GOOD GOD!!!! During my time with YWAM, I was inevitably and undoubtably gripped for missions. From experiencing healing, growing immensely in empathy, seeing Him MOVE in the nations, to watching Him pursue my friends in unique ways, my heart began to beat for what His beats for: PEOPLE. The question that seems to burn on my heart day in and day out is “How will they know?” How will they know unless we go and tell them? I believe that the Great Commission is not just something I can partake in for 6 months and then move on with my life. It is something that I have committed the rest of my days to. THE GREAT COMMISSION: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 I have tasted and seen of the goodness of God and I cannot live my life in any other way but to KNOW HIM and MAKE HIM KNOWN. I hear him saying GO. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I have spent time with the Lord seeking His voice on what He wants this to look like for my life. And… He has blessed me with an incredible opportunity! I am committing the next season of my life to being trained up in leadership and discipleship to staff with Fire & Fragrance at YWAM Kona for the next two years. This is an idea of what it will look like: October 2025-December 2025: Leadership Track in Norway! This is a training program for those seeking to staff F&F DTS. January 2026-June 2026: On staff with Fire and Fragrance DTS! Discipling students and co-leading a team to the nations! Then repeated for at least one more year as it is a 2 year minimum commitment. In order to do this and live out this calling from God, I need your help! First and foremost, I am seeking out my PRAYER WARRIORS! I would feel so blessed to have you partner with me in prayer as I begin this next adventure with Jesus. Missionary Ye-Il Kim DONATE Hello, my name is Ye-Il Kim. I am currently serving as staff at YWAM Grimerud in Norway. I manage and run the café on their base. My vision for the café is to provide a space for staff members, students, and visitors to rest, fellowship, and work efficiently. I am also involved with the arts, mainly through hosting raves, where I do weekly DJ sets in the main auditorium. It is a new form of worship not yet fully explored, and my hope is that people learn to appreciate music as an end in itself and its developments in the past 50 years.
