MISSIONARY Laura Guiste DONATE Hi! My name is Laura Guiste, I’m 22, and I am a part of Youth With A Mission. At YWAM, our focus is to know God and make him known. For the past 4 years, I’ve been a “ywamer”, serving and going deeper in my relationship with the Lord in order to bring people to the places I’ve been with God. I’m currently serving at YWAM Kona with a ministry training course called Foundations for Revival and Reformation. This is a 9-month course with 3 three-month focuses. The first focus is reading the entirety of the Bible and understanding it in its context. The second focus is Biblical Worldview and Christian Ethics, where students learn what it looks like to live out what the Bible says in every aspect of culture, while also learning why they believe what they believe. The third focus is learning how to effectively communicate a Biblical worldview lovingly in every type of setting. My job is to be a tutor and mentor to a group of the students as they go through this course, as well as helping facilitate various aspects of the course in order to help it function. I’m very excited to help future Christian leaders understand what the Lord had in mind when He established the framework of culture and how we should thrive in it. YWAM value number 16 is practice dependence on God for finances. Everything I do unto the Lord, through YWAM, is solely dependent on Him warming people’s hearts and giving them the vision of the impact He’s called me to make. MISSIONARY Marvin Reif DONATE The Lord called me into ministry at an early age, and I have dedicated my life to sharing and teaching the gospel of the Good News with others, encouraging and building up the body of Christ, and sharing the love of Jesus with the lost. I join the Lord, investing in the lives of others, seeing each person as precious and valuable. Making myself available to all the Lord brings my way, I get to see the Lord at work and turn dust into gold! God does the great thing out of the little thing, and one person’s life is a very big thing! It is such a joy to see lives saved and transformed through the revelation and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and to grow in the truth and love of the Lord. I love the Lord and His word, and really enjoy teaching, encouraging, discipling, and praying for those I’m ministering with. I have been serving in adult and youth ministries for over 40 years, partnering with local churches, and Young Life, and reaching High School kids through coaching Field and Track, and substitute teaching at local High Schools. I also serve as an elder and member of the Ministry and Counsel team at Walnut Creek Friends Church, providing ministry support, teaching and bringing Sunday messages to the congregation on a regular basis. Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known. DTS is a 6 month program that teaches 18-25 year olds about a relationship and friendship with Jesus, missions, living in community, and so much more. During DTS it is split into two sections. A lecture phase where there is teaching and an outreach phase where the students go on a three month mission to around the world. My goal during this time is to see youth learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Teach them about missions and take them on a two and a half month mission trip. MISSIONARY Shelly Longo DONATE Hello! My name is Shelly! The original Circuit Riders were a movement of selfless, dedicated individuals who gave their very lives to reaching the lost, forming discipleship settings, and shifting the culture around them through wholehearted obedience to Scripture. Their zeal for God created a contagion of simple obedience to the teachings of Jesus and resulted in a movement later described as the First Great Awakening. We are now creating a modern move of Circuit Riders through the missions organization known as YWAM. I have a deep longing in my heart to reach my generation. I believe they want freedom more than ever, and without them knowing the reality of sin and death, they have chosen to walk in the ways where the enemy of this world has a field day. I believe the most effective way to reach my generation is through the college campuses of America. I have seen too many broken college students that are aching for a change in their lives, and refuse to turn to “mere religion” to mend the void that they feel. That is where we, as circuit riders through our campaign known as “Carry the Love” come in. We aim to relentlessly show the power of who Jesus really is, and the reality of why he has come to these college students. We long for the power of religion to be broken off completely and to really describe and reveal the father and his beloved son, Jesus, in such a way that really unveils the strong savior, father, and friend that He is. Through Carry the love, we travel to hundreds of universities in America and abroad to hold gospel crusades, revival & ministry nights, tent gatherings (modeled by the evangelism days of Billy Graham) and discipleship training schools. We hold revival gatherings at each school, and follow up in the days after that with discipleship and most importantly connecting the students to that local church/ body of Christ and with one another. We believe the local church, whether in a building or living room, that holds true discipleship and teachings on the way of Jesus, is the very key to sustaining any kind of revival. We are sojourners on the earth, quite literally! We go wherever God opens a door to bring the gospel. I will be leading tour teams throughout the universities for Jesus to be made known.
