My heart burns to see youth and families around the world transformed by the power of Jesus. This year, I have the honor of staffing a discipleship school with 300 students who are hungry for the Lord. I’ll be mentoring, discipling, and walking closely with them as they grow in intimacy with Jesus and then helping launch them into the nations to bring the Gospel and restoration through Jesus. I believe we’re in a time where this generation is not just ready for revival but they are the revival. God called me into missions at a time when everything in my life was “stable” I had a good job, I was in school, and I was near my family. But He asked me to lay it all down and follow Him. I said yes, because the gospel is worth it. I want my life to be fully spent for the Kingdom, and I know God is moving powerfully in the nations. I can’t do this alone. I’m praying for 20–30 people who believe in what God is doing globally and want to be part of finishing the Great Commission and are able to give $100-250/month. Missionary Sophia Zapata DONATE Hey, my name is Sophia Zapata and i'm currently staffing the Fire and Fragrance DTS in Kona, Hawaii. My life has never been the same since Jesus met me in a dream. I used to say I would not go into missions but Jesus, he showered me in his extravagant love, peace beyond understanding and such a deep compassion. I couldn’t have imagined a life as abundant and rich in love like the one I get to live right now with the Lord. It’s such a privilege to lead teams to the nations and, with love, share about God! I felt called to staff DTS during my own DTS in January of 2024 and am so passionate about youth encountering the life changing, unconditional love of Jesus. I have a huge heart for South America. I am so honored to lead a team to the country I am originally from and where so much of my family lives. God is moving so much in Colombia and I can't wait to be apart of what he is already doing. This will be my second year staffing with Ywam Kona. In Colombia we will be partnering with an organization called Rescue. My co leader and I plan to go to the Amazon jungle and tour around to different cities spread out across the country. We will focus on kids ministry, women’s ministry, health/ dental care, prison ministry, prostitution ministry, church ministry and a lot of evangelism and open air worship!! It's all in the Lord's hands and we are so so excited! Our whole team is learning Spanish and my co leader and I are fluent. Missionary Melany Martinez DONATE Hi I'm Melany! I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I moved to Omaha, Nebraska when I was 12 years. Then I was blessed to live in Miami from 2018 through 2020. And throughout my whole life, ups and downs, I've encountered The LOVE of God. If you know me you know I'm a woman of a lot of words. I have a lot to say and for that reason I KNOW you have a voice too. My goal in life is that YOU know how loved you are by Jesus and that every single person that encounters me experiences his RADICAL love the way I do. I can only love and see you the way I do because HE sees me, HE loves me. I have this urgency in my heart, to share God's pure heart to the world. Circuit Riders mission is to "Save the lost. Revive the saved. Train them all" and this is exactly what they do. God uses this movement so that HE can be glorified. The staff LOVES God so much that he uses them to speak life over everyone that encounters them and their lives are never the same. This is what happened when I met them this summer. Missionary Hailey Zetterberg DONATE Hello! I am Hailey Zetterberg, a full time missionary with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) in Kona, Hawaii! I am a part of a missionary organization YWAM, within YWAM I am a part of Fire and Fragrance. Fire and Fragrance is a discipleship training school focused on training and sending Generation Z to the nations to share the gospel. I did my discipleship training school from the fall of 2022 to March 2023. in those 6 months I truly met Jesus and my love for the nations stirred me to continue at YWAM. My time on outreach in Central Asia was a time God was calling me to disciple others and send Generation Z to the nations. This will be my 2nd year at YWAM this summer and I am so expectant about what God is going to do for me and the people around me. Missionary Syam Paul Peteti DONATE My name is Syam Paul Peteti, and I am from India. I was born into a Dalit (untouchable) family and grew up in poverty with many struggles. Even though I was raised in a Christian home, I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus. I chose to live my own way until a very painful time in my life led me to encounter Him personally. That moment changed my life. Since then, I have chosen to follow Jesus with all my heart. In 2024, I joined a Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Hyderabad, where I began to grow deeper in my relationship with God. After that, I went to Nepal for a Discipleship Bible School (DBS), where I became more close in God’s Word and stronger in my faith. During my time in Nepal, I met a young boy who was living on the streets, addicted to drugs and alcohol, and had no family. I started spending time with him, caring for him, eating food, spend time with him and showing him God’s love. Slowly, I saw his life change. He came out of addiction, found healing, and even started going to church. This experience touched my heart deeply and confirmed my calling to ministry. Now, I am part of SOMD with Fire & Fragrance North India, preparing for full-time ministry. My heart is to disciple young people, help them know their identity in Christ, and reach India and the unreached nations. My Vision My vision is to see a generation rise not just individuals, but a movement of young people living for God. • To see youth movements grow across India and the nations • To raise young leaders who carry God’s presence in their daily lives • To disciple Gen Z into a close and real relationship with God • To help young people live with purpose, not follow the world • To equip and send young people to reach others. Missionary Naomi Sweeney DONATE For the past year I have been involved in a Christian outreach organization called YWAM. (Youth With A Mission) YWAM’s main goal is for people to know Jesus and to make Jesus known. It is easy to think of missions as a 1 week trip with a church or something only retired adults do. Although both of those things are good, YWAM encourages young people to make it their life mission to share the Gospel. I always understood the importance of missions but I didn’t fully realize how important they are until I stayed in a nation for a long period of time. I learned the culture, served practically and saw lives transformed by the good news. God commands us as believers' to tell others of His love and I believe that I can best do that through YWAM in my current season of life. Matthew 28:16-20 The Great Commission 16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Last year I started with a DTS which stands for “Discipleship Training School.” I spent 3 months in a lecture phase learning about the Bible, how to preach the Gospel to different religions and how to serve others in practical ways. Then I went out for 3 months to Turkey. My team and I volunteered in the earthquake zone and served to help meet the Turkish peoples needs practically as well as spiritually. We saw a handful of salvations and even got to baptize new believers in the Mediterranean sea. We connected the new Turkish believers to the long term missionaries in the area for further discipleship. I was given many opportunities to lead worship for local Turkish believers. After those 6 months were up I went home for the summer sang at my wonderful church at home, started a Bible study with some of my girl friends and sold my car to pay for the next thing I felt the Lord calling me towards. I then started YWAM's school of worship. I spent 3 months in a quarter of full time school. I had lots of homework, lots of lectures and a lot of challenging moments but I learned so much and am so thankful for it. My favorite part of that school was learning how to write songs from scripture. During the school I wrote lots of Christian music. Writing songs is my biggest passion and one of the callings God has on my life. It was amazing having so much support in my writing and learning how to use my gifts for the Glory of God. After my school of worship I was eager to step into a leadership role. I looked at a bunch of different opportunities and then I stumbled across a program called Kokua crew. Kokua crew is a work to live program that YWAM offers. Anyone can join this work to live program no matter their beliefs. They serve the YWAM campus practically (mowing lawns, cafeteria work, maintenance ect..) in exchange for housing, meals and church attendance once a week. Within the program there are staff/mentor roles. So I was interviewed and selected to staff a quarter of Kokua crew. I did lots of random office tasks and planning but my main role was women’s discipleship. I had 11 girls that I would meet with every week and I was there to be there friend, discuss spirituality and faith and above all show them the love of Christ, which many of them hadn’t experienced. It was such a wonderful opportunity, I saw salvations and lives changed through that and it was one of my favorite things I have ever done. I’ve been home since April and have been working, watching friends get married, serving in church, and spending time with friends and family. I have felt called back to missions for some time now but have been wrestling with it a lot because of one of my main struggles, which is Anxiety. Anxiety has been something that has stopped me from accomplishing many things but I hate letting fear win and God constantly is getting me through this daily battle. I have decided to follow what I feel like the Lord has placed on my heart even though it is not in my comfort zone. My next step with missions is to staff a DTS program and lead a team out into the nations to spread the Gospel. Staffing would be the same process as when I was a student but instead of just going on a missions trip I would be in charge of planning the missions trip. I would leave in September for a 3 month leadership training course in South Africa. During these 3 months we will be taught useful Leadership skills, biblical teaching, servant heartedness, discipline and so much more. We will be doing local outreaches while in South Africa to help the community while we are there. After the 3 month training course I will head back to Kona, HI (where the 3 month lecture phase takes place on a YWAM campus) While the students are in classes I along with my future Co-leader will be planning a 3 month outreach by calling contacts from the nation we get sent to, planning ministry, finding housing, budgeting and traveling practical’s. I will also be staffing the lecture phase. Then my future co-leader and I will be assigned a team of 7-12 young adults to lead out on a mission somewhere in the world to spread the love of Jesus in anyway that we can. Now I need your help! Support financially, support in prayer and support as a community! God calls Christians to give! Not only give, but give with a cheerful heart. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. In order to do this 9 month mission I will need to raise about $10,000. This will cover, plane tickets, food and housing. I am currently working and saving money to put towards this goal but I need some help! If you believe in what I am doing and feel called to give I would be so grateful. Any amount will help. I need community at home who can be praying for me as I step into this! I have felt the Lord calling me to do this for the past 4 months. I have prayed over and over for clarity, confirmation and peace and have felt all of the above. I know God has many plans for me and will be happy with me as long as I seek a relationship with Him. BUT I know that He is currently calling me to step into leadership, to give my anxieties to Him, to lay down my comforts and to put others before myself. He wants to teach me about sacrificial love, patience, humbleness, and so much more. My Instagram is often the highlight reel of the really fun things I get to experience but I believe it is important to shed light on the hard work, time and effort that is put into preparing and doing mission work.
