Hey !
I’m Zoe ! An eighteen year old from Melbourne, Australia. I’m currently doing full time missions with YWAM Perth (Youth With A Mission).
I am so blessed to be a part of the largest missionary sending organisation in the whole world ! YWAM train and equip young people to “Know God and make Him known.” This mission statement is so evidently liven out through YWAM. To say Yes to the call that the Lord has paced on your life, and to use it be discipled, and disciple others.
In January of 2024, I completed my DTS (discipleship training school) with Fire & Fragrance at YWAM Kona. The impact that this school had on me is extremely hard to put into words. My eyes were opened to the world, and to the way that the Lord sees it. I came to Kona with a lukewarm faith. One that was NOT dependent on intimacy with Jesus. During lecture phase, I prayed a dangerous prayer which the Lord was keen to answer. “Break my heart for what breaks yours” and mate, He really did. I was ripped apart by the reality that not everyone knows the Jesus that I know. My plan was to just come home after DTS, move out, study, work, and live the ‘normal life’. But in week two of DTS, the Lord put staffing a DTS on my heart. I’ve seen the brokenness of Gen Z. The bitterness, the comparison, the cancel culture and loneliness. The anxiety, the depression, the self hatred and addictions. This generation is so desperate for JESUS, and most of them don’t even know that the He is the filler of their void. I know that by me walking hand in hand with Jesus, together, through spreading the Gospel, we can bring hope to our community that is currently drowning by these factors. So THANK YOU JESUS for pulling my heart apart and showing me what it means to live a life fully surrendered, and for Your Glory !!
I’m still learning how to live a life deeply rooted into Jesus. And I’ll never fully understand the fullness of His love. The Lord has engraved Matthew 28 -The Great Commission - on my heart. And i’m ready to dive in, lay my life down, and GO where ever he calls me.
I have moved from my family in Melbourne, to YWAM Perth, with the intention of calling Perth home for the next TWO YEARS. I’m super excited that God has called me to serve in my home country, as this is where my heart is. From January till June I will be staffing the 4WD DTS, and I feel so at peace with this decision. Staffing a six month school includes discipling a group of young people during lecture phase, helping run the school, and leading (or co-leading) an outreach team to go and spread to love of Jesus to locations within australia, and potentially to the nations too !
But being on the field does mean that I need COMMUNITY !! I need you. People that believe, and hear my heart for missions, while understanding the commitment I’m making. Paul Washer puts it this way:
‘Missions’ is very simple. There are only two ministries in missions. You’re either called to go down into the well or you’re called to hold the rope for those that go down. Either way, there should be scars on your hands. Where are your scars?’
It would mean the word to me if you took this up with Jesus. Praying and considering about partnering with the Lord and me, as I live out the calling that God has put on my life in this season. Either through prayer, which is go so powerful, or finances.
It would be an absolute honour to be on this crazy journey with YOU !
