What is YWAM?

YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission

It is a global movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

What is the Great Commission?

Jesus's instruction to "go, make disciples, baptize, and teach."

Matthew 28:19-20 says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Why?

Jesus saves, but some people have never heard of God's love. I have the opportunity to tell others who Jesus is and make Him known. I will be able to grow my faith, help others, and travel to less fortunate countries all for God's glory. Jesus saved me. I was lost, but now I am found. The Lord has restored my soul. He gives me joy. He gives me a purpose. I know His love and I can’t imagine living my life without it. I have experienced being lost and it is the most hopeless feeling I have ever felt. Life is not meant to be lived like that. You have a purpose, and you are loved. Jesus loves you and there is no greater love than His. We are not perfect, but He is. Jesus gives freedom. Freedom from sin; addiction, lust, lies, anger, depression. Sin I have struggled with until I gave my life to Jesus. Help others hear about the savior. Help make disciples of all nations. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friend (John 15:13).

Outreach Phase: Overseas (Location TBD)

What is Discipleship Training School?

DTS is a 6-month program that combines classroom learning, small group activities, personal reflection, practical service, and community living.

What is the Lecture Phase:

3 months of spending time in a community setting focused on knowing God. (worship, listening to speakers, classroom learning, etc.)

What is the Outreach Phase:

3 months serving alongside local believers, existing ministries, and long-term missionaries working and serving in many different ways.

Overall goal?

To make God known.

How much is it?

Lecture Phase: $4500 (rent, curriculum resources, paying for speakers to come, etc.)

Outreach Phase: $4000-6000 (plane tickets, rent, in-country travel fees, ministry budget, food, etc.)

Extra $1000-2000 for food during the lecture phase
