Hello, my name is Uyatholwa Mkhwanazi - my name is pronounced (Ooh-yah-toll-wah). I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. I grew up in a Christian household with my parents as pastors, making me 2nd generation minister in my family.

I was always intrigued by my continent and was inspired by some of the missions’ stories my dad would share with us about his time in different African nations. I knew I wanted to learn more about my continent and give hope to the vulnerable and hopeless. I then grew a heart of those from dysfunctional families and decided to study psychology to be a beacon of hope to those who have grown up in vulnerable situations.

While in my final year of university, I got saved at FFSA ministry night after many years of living far from God and for the first time I understood that the Holy Spirit was God. That was when I felt the Lord ask me to do my DTS the following year. My DTS completely changed my life and 2 years later I'm still serving at Fire and Fragrance South Africa, as a part of Project54.

Our ministry aims to see discipleship movements across Africa by 2035, though the vision is big we believe it's achievable as we continue to identify catalysts in different nations who we train in an oral 3-part model to run discipleship groups which multiply into indigenous churches. We have since seen movements in different nations within Africa and have since expanded beyond the African borders. I particularly serve in our ministry’s media team, I help lead prayer sessions in our team as well as an online prayer group to pray for South Africa on a weekly basis, I also help facilitate trainings in different nations and help coach them as they run these discipleship groups, lastly I help lead a house church with university students as we plant church (Missio) here in Potchefstroom.

I long to see my generation pursue Jesus, living in holiness and fulfill the great commission. I want to see young healthy young leaders follow the call of God over their lives no matter what sphere they work in.
