Welcome! We are the Skidmore family-Taylor, Caitlyn, and Ahavah! We are native Californians now living in Tennessee. We absolutely love Jesus and have gladly given our lives to follow Him. Taylor is a husband, father, author, ordained pastor, and spiritual director. He ministered on staff with the two churches he belonged to in California, served as adjunct faculty for Talbot Seminary, and has worked with the ministry of Awana for several years as the Church Partnership Manager. Caitlyn is a wife, mother, and has completed her YWAM DTS, as well as Iris School of Missions in Mozambique, Africa. She has served as a missionary in the projects of San Francisco and has pastored alongside Taylor in the local church.
Throughout our marriage, we’ve really sensed the Lord stirring our hearts and calling us to serve His bride in America. The church in America is the backbone of global benevolence, providing clean water, anti-trafficking, bible translation, feeding the poor, and so much more! But the church is in a defining moment. In a time where more than twice as many churches close as open each year, we believe that God loves His American bride and is not done with her! Our heart is to come alongside churches to serve and strengthen their foundations so that God’s engine of impact can continue to be a fountain of blessing to the needy and the nations!
Our Family Calling: The Lord has called us to step into the ministry of serving churches across America!
The needs of churches and the causes of their closing are many, but not endless. Churches are in desperate need of support in several areas, such as leadership transitions, fostering community, financial strains, and facility issues, to name a few. Our hope is that, over time, we will be able to build a ministry that holistically serves and supports congregations in these and many more areas of need!
But we believe our first step towards this big vision is to start by serving churches in an area that is critical in this hour of our culture and is also the greatest need expressed by pastors…to equip churches to love and reach the not-yet believers of their cities.
Some Helpful Stats:
The largest and fastest-growing belief system/religion in America is “Spiritual But Not Religious,” or what used to be called the New Age Movement.
87% of Americans subscribe to at least one New Age belief.
76% of pastors say their greatest need is fostering connections with unchurched people.
Only 1% of pastors say their church is very effective at outreach.
75% of pastors desire outside advice and help on issues their church is facing.
Our hearts ache to connect the dots between the “lost” and the Church. We long to see the Church actively discipling the freshly saved and for church leaders to be equipped to extend the Kingdom out to everyone, but especially, the Spiritual But Not Religious (SBNR).
What This Looks Like:
New Age festival outreaches
Taylor is completing his book. Working title: “Divine Hunger: Contagious Christianity and the New Age Confusion”
Sharing content on social media to equip believers in reaching the SBNR
E-courses and a podcast for believers and churches
Trainings and seminars for congregations and leaders
“I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:9-11
We invite you to partner with us in helping churches to be equipped and for the lost to be loved back home! Together, let’s contend for health and renewal throughout the churches in America!
If you have any creative ways you would like to be involved in this mission, we are all ears! We would be honored to have you join us in prayer and as a financial partner to enable us to continue in strength now and in the years to come! Thank you for joining us on this mission to see America transformed for Jesus!
Following Jesus Together,
The Skidmore Family
