Hello, my name is Mint Sukanya. I am a single mother serving full-time with Samaritan Creation and volunteering with Rak Teh Ministry (YWAM) in Bangkok, Thailand.
I was born in Isaan, the northeastern region of Thailand. I grew up in a poor and uneducated family. At the age of 15, I became pregnant and found myself a single mother at 19 years old.
Overwhelmed by the heavy burden of providing for my family, and with little education, I made the painful decision to work in prostitution in Bangkok. It was never a choice I wanted, and it left deep scars on my heart and body. Yet, out of love for my family and a sense of duty, I endured it.
In 2012, my life changed forever. I heard about Jesus and decided to believe in Him and leave sex work behind. The journey wasn’t easy. During my first year, I wrestled with addictions to drugs, alcohol, and unhealthy relationships. But God’s grace was greater than my struggles. Through the unwavering prayers, encouragement, and love of my Christian brothers and sisters, I found hope and strength to persevere. God’s Word began to heal the deep wounds in my heart and revealed my true worth in His eyes. Inspired by His love, I began serving God in ministry, reaching out to women who work in prostitution.
At that time, I encountered many women working as prostitutes, and my heart broke for them. Their struggles reminded me of my own painful past as a street prostitute before I knew Jesus. In that moment, I felt a divine calling. God stirred my heart with deep compassion and gratitude for His grace—the grace that had lifted me out of darkness and transformed my life. I knew I couldn’t stay silent. I wanted to share the same love, hope, and freedom that Jesus had given me with these women still trapped in the life I once lived.
Since then, I have dedicated my life to reaching out to women working in prostitution in Red-light areas in Bangkok.
Every Tuesday, I join the Rak Teh team (YWAM) as a volunteer for street outreach. We go out to meet women on the streets, offering free manicures, haircuts, second-hand clothes, and hygiene masks, while sharing the good news of Jesus and praying for those who need prayer.
Every Friday, we invite women to come to Rak Teh Outreach Center where they can eat, drink coffee, get their nails done, and learn English for free. These moments allow us to build relationships, listen to their stories, provide advice, and share the gospel. We also pray for them, encourage them to believe in a better future, and connect those who want to leave prostitution with Samaritan Creations and other partner organizations.
On Thursdays with Samaritan Creations, we visit women working in bars in red-light areas. We focus on building relationships, sharing the good news of Jesus, and introducing job opportunities to women who want to leave prostitution and start a new life. At Samaritan, I also teach the Bible and serve as a mentor for women in the program.
I would like to invite you to join and support me in this ministry of hope and transformation for sex workers. Your support—whether through prayer or financial contributions—can make a lasting impact in the lives of women seeking freedom and a new beginning. Together, we can share God’s love, bring light into the darkest places, and help these women discover their God-given worth and potential. Your partnership means more than words can express, and I am deeply grateful for your willingness to stand with me in this mission.
All Glory to God Jesus Christ.
Mint Sukanya,
