Hi everyone!
I wanted to share something meaningful that I will be participating in soon. At the moment, I am working a local job in my hometown, studying the Bible, and praying about my calling in life. Through this season of seeking God, I believe He is calling me to become a missionary—not simply as a title or occupation, but as a calling with a deeper meaning and purpose.
Before I explain more about what I mean, I want to share a little about how my faith journey has grown.
Around the time COVID-19 began, the world felt completely different. Everything seemed uncertain, isolated, and empty. Sadly, during that season, my mom passed away, which shifted something deeply within me. I felt isolated emotionally and spiritually, while the world around me also felt physically separated. I began asking difficult questions about faith and life. I attended youth camps, searching for the God my mother worshipped, and I found myself asking, “Is God real? And if He is, then why?”
Then, unexpectedly, at one of those camps, I believe God met me. I know people sometimes say, “I heard the Lord,” and while my experience may not have been an audible voice, I believe God placed an understanding in my heart that brought me peace concerning my mom. It was an idea, a realization, and a sense of comfort that I could not have created on my own. In that moment, I began to understand that God was near, even in the middle of grief and confusion.
Over time, as I continued seeking God directly, He gave me patience and led me toward a simple answer: “Serve Me.”
Although serving God is something I believe we are called to practice every day, the desire to go on a mission trip remained strong in my heart. At the time, however, I rested in what I believed God was already telling me: to serve Him faithfully wherever I was. In this new season, it feels as though God has been undoing certain belief systems I had built for myself. Through that process, He has been making room for His will to take deeper root in my heart.
One passage of Scripture that God has been using to speak to me is 2 Timothy 4:1–5. We can become so distracted that we lose sight of the season we are in. And if we do not recognize the season we are in, how can we understand where God is leading us? How can we know where we are going if we do not first acknowledge where we are?
Distraction is a serious issue in today’s world. It seems as though everyone talks about it, yet it has also become normal to be constantly focused on life, responsibilities, entertainment, success, and the opinions of others while rarely focusing on God. God has been opening my eyes to the idols and distractions in my own life that I needed to remove so that a deeper relationship with Him could grow—one that goes beyond a surface-level faith.
I believe this is something every person needs. When we allow God to reveal the distractions in our lives, He opens the door to a love that is deeper than our understanding. Because of that, I want to encourage you to pray and ask God, “What is distracting me from You? What have I allowed to become more important than my relationship with You?”
There is another passage of Scripture that has also deeply impacted me. It begins with the words:
“Remember the day you stood before Yahweh your God, when He said, ‘Assemble the people to Me, that I may cause them to hear My words so they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’”
I believe part of my calling is to help gather people together so they can recognize the King who loves them more than they could ever love themselves. I want to help reveal the infinite value God has placed within every person. No matter who is standing in front of us, our focus should remain on Jesus and the love, peace, and truth He gives.
We should look at people as individuals who have infinite value and who have been made in the image of God. Because of that, what we say, how we treat people, and even what we think about them matters deeply to God. Right now, it matters deeply to me as well.
We are made in the image of God, and His love is present in us. Yet we can live in ways that cause us to forget that truth. I know I have done this. There have been times when I did not love myself, when I believed that the people around me did not truly care to know the real me, and when I struggled to believe that I had value.
That is why I pray that God will use me to help others see the value He has placed within them and the love He has for every single person. His love is faithful, compassionate, and protective—like the love of a mother who cares deeply for her children. I want people to know that they are seen, known, wanted, and loved by God.
Recently, God led me to an opportunity with a school called Circuit Riders, which focuses on Gospel training, outreach, discipleship, and ministry. After praying and seeking God’s direction, I believe it is time for me to step forward in obedience and join Circuit Riders for this next season.
During this program, I will learn practical ways to share God’s love, serve local communities, participate in outreach, and do Kingdom work through fellowship, humility, and love. As I look back over my life—including the difficult seasons of losing my mom—I can see how God was preparing me and reminding me that I was never truly alone. Even in moments when I felt abandoned, confused, or lost, He was still present and working in ways I did not yet understand.
Now, I want to share that same love and hope with others.
To make this opportunity possible, I need to raise approximately $4,000 to help cover major expenses such as travel, housing, food, transportation, ministry supplies, and program costs. Missions and ministry are a team effort. While some people are called to go, others are called to pray, encourage, give, and help send them.
Because of that, I would love to invite you to partner with me on this journey. If you feel led to support me, you can do so by:
- Praying for faith, discernment, obedience, wisdom, and love
- Giving toward my $4,000 fundraising goal by donating below
- Sharing this message with friends, family, churches, or anyone who may feel led to support
- Sending encouragement throughout this journey
A verse that has encouraged me during this season is 1 Peter 5:6–10:
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished among your brethren who are in the world. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, strengthen, confirm, and ground you.”
We have such a loving God. He desires to love us, protect us, restore us, and draw us close to Himself. Even when we go through difficult circumstances, He does not abandon us. However, there are many people who have never truly experienced or understood this love. The enemy takes advantage of that pain, confusion, and loneliness, filling people’s minds with lies and making them feel as though they will never find rest.
This passage reminds us that we will experience trials and tribulations, but we have a foundation in God. We have someone who strengthens us, guides us, and carries us when we are weak. Yet many people around us do not know that foundation. The same enemy who tries to lie to us and discourage us does not stop pursuing them.
That is why I believe God is calling me to go—to share the hope, love, peace, and truth that I have received through Him. I do not believe this journey is about me alone. I believe it is about allowing God to work through me so that others can experience His love and realize their own value in Him.
Thank you for taking the time to read about this opportunity and for supporting me as I follow where God is leading. I am deeply grateful for your prayers, generosity, encouragement, and partnership. Whether you are able to give, share this message, or simply pray, every form of support means more to me than I can fully express.
Thank you for standing with me in this next season.
With gratitude,
Seth Hill
