My name is Mike Martin.
Â
I am a missionary with YWAM Kona. I have been called to leadership within YWAM’s international community. Leading teams, people, and schools all across the globe.
Â
I have been in missions for almost five years now and have decided to make missions my life. Always following the call of the lord. YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission. We do not believe that missions or ministry is reserved only to elders or those who have gone through years of training. We champion the call of God on youth specifically as well as the rest of the body of Christ.
Â
My specific school is called Fire and Fragrance, founded by Andy Byrd. We have over 10 locations across the world and our primary ministry is operating our two discipleship training schools (DTS). We focused on two divisions of missions, the unreached peoples of the world, and creating youth movements. We want to reach the 3.4 billion unreached people on the earth with the good news of Jesus Christ and we create movements within communities to create long lasting and sustainable communities and missionaries around the Earth.
Â
My role in this is as a school staff member. Along with a team of 60 based in Kona Hawaii we operate the school. I am part of the unreached school, and I am a team leader. I take on about 10-15 students and for three months we take them through a lecture and discipleship phase. Consisting of weekly themed classes taught by world class speakers. On topics like, faith, Holy Spirit, power of your testimony, and practical training for ministering to tribal and remote people. There is also direct intentional one on one training by me to champion the students to walk out Gods calling, become confident in the way God has made them, create sermons and teachings, and prepare for a variety of different ministry opportunities in the nations; teaching under the cultural contexts of the nation’s we find ourselves in. Then the students will go on the outreach phase, directly led by me. This is the in-nation part of the DTS. We go on the field in our assigned nation and operate with local contacts to craft an outreach with multiple ministry opportunities to be both effective for the great commission, and to champion and teach students what it looks like to be a missionary wherever they are. This looks like, trekking, Bible distribution/translation, evangelism, teachings and preaching, human trafficking ministry, mercy ministries and many, many more.
Â
Within YWAM from the bottom to the top not a single person is paid. It is one of our core values to rely on the provision of the Lord and those who want to support missionaries working on the field to further the great commission.
Â
Our school generally has an annual fee of $10,000. This does not include food, rent, and travel expenses. So, your donation goes towards paying for the school operations, supporting me directly in paying for meals, rent, and travel. As well as any of my personal ministry expenses and other miscellaneous expenses that come with living in remote nations.
Â
In order for any of us to go, we need to be sent by people and your support directly contributes to every ministry and goal I have described above. Children will be fed and clothed, people set free, and men and woman across the earth finally learning for the first time about the man Jesus Christ.
Â
If God has stirred your heart about these things, I ask that you would consider joining my support network and sending me into the far corners of the Earth. Any donation of any amount is greatly appreciated, may it be a small one time gift, or the joining of my support team.
Â
Thank you for not only believing in me but also in what God is doing across the Earth.
Â
God Bless!

Mike
