My name is Mary Esther, I was born and raised in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. A small town up the mountains in the center of the country. I met Jesus when I was 8 years old as I began to attend a kid’s club that a couple of missionaries started in my neighborhood. Since the moment I gave my life to Christ, I’ve always loved to serve His church in any way possible.

When I graduated college with a Psychology degree, I already knew what I wanted to do. To use my skills and the strategies to help other people to find true healing in Christ. Then, I learned about FIGHT and fell in love with its vision, which is “to provide hope and healing to underage females victimized by human trafficking.”  I knew God was calling me to be part of His work through FIGHT in my own community and country. So, when I was offered the job to be their Psychologist, it was an easy “Yes” for me.

I started working for FIGHT in 2022, when we still hadn’t received our 1st girl, and most of the work that needed to be done was logistics and preparation for our opening. Now that we have a regular flow of girls in our refuge house, I have the blessing to work closely with the girls to help them heal and be restored. Part of what I do consists of therapy, mentorship, discipleship and discipline of our girls through my gifts, spiritual guidance and psychological skills.

I am honored to play such an essential role in the lives of the girls who come to our refuge. It is a true blessing to see the results of the many hours and resources spent in their healing process.

I would love to be able to keep doing what God’s called me to do while raising my own 4 children as a single mom.

Would you prayerfully consider working alongside me to see the lives of many more girls who are victims of sexual trafficking transformed? Each prayer is highly appreciated, and each dollar is very well invested in God’s Kingdom.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalm 147:3.
