Greetings friends and family I hope you are well.

My name is Mbabazi Lamech am a Ugandan by nationality and I am a full time missionary with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Specifically at YWAM Hopeland. YWAM is an international non-denominational missionary organization with over 2000 locations worldwide and with over 12000 full time staff.

After my university courses in 2019 I came back and became a full-time volunteer with YWAM Hopeland. I attended my DTS (Discipleship Training School) which is a primary YWAM entry school at a YWAM base in Tanzania, YWAM Arusah in August of 2022. When I returned to Uganda, I joined the evangelism department of YWAM Hopeland in Jinja Uganda. In 2024 I became the department leader for the evangelism department.

What is the evangelism department all about? The evangelism department is a department of YWAM Hopeland that reaches out in communities in Jinja and the eastern region at large with the aim of preaching the gospel through the word and deeds. We reach out in schools both primary and secondary, slums, prisons, hospitals, babies’ homes (AMANI), rehabilitation centers for street children (Children restoration outreach CRO) As well door-to-door and open-air crusades. We also help conduct outreaches for short term DTS outreach teams from different YWAM locations. Note Children ministry carries a big portion of our department. According to statistics 70 percent of the population of Jinja, where we are located, are children below the age of 17. This gives us a big mandate as a department to reach out to these kids at this tender age, by teaching them about the Bible and the ways of God.

As the evangelism department leader my role and duty are:

• To make sure that all these ministries are running smoothly throughout the year

• Create programs for all these ministries

• Fundraise for funds needed for the ministries to operate

• But also set a direction i.e., visions and goals for the different ministries

• Write yearly and quarterly reports for the department.

I am also leading the worship department of YWAM Hopeland where I am in charge of making the worship sets for our weekly prayer gatherings.
