Romero Haugen Family

We are the Romero Haugen family! Greetings from Carlos, Kirsten and Lucia.

We partner with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) located in Tijuana, Mexico. For the last 7 years we have been working in the area of discipleship. We are passionate about helping young people find their identity as sons and daughters, and seeing how this overflows into all areas of their lives. As YWAMERs (a nick-name for those who have been involved with YWAM ministries and training courses) we align with the universal Christian call “to know God and to make God known.”

We have done this through staffing and leading Discipleship Training Schools (DTS). In the DTS, we have the opportunity to facilitate the environment for students to draw closer to God in their personal relationship with Him, and then champion them into sharing His love with the world around them to people “here, near and far.” We walk closely with students for 5 months both locally at our campus and abroad on an evangelism and mercy ministry focused outreach. We believe every aspect of our life can be used to glorify God – even in our hobbies! We’ve had the privilege to pioneer a Creative Arts and Media focus for the DTS on our YWAM campus.

As creatives, we love to use our artistic giftings to “know God and make God known.” Storytelling through film has been a ministry, and teaching tool we have found to be both effective, and fun! We love to capture and communicate what God is doing. From spreading awareness and fundraising for different ministries, to documentary style testimony, to capturing monumental life moments like weddings, we love to tell the stories that are on God’s heart.

As a cross-cultural family, we are also passionate about seeing believers going “from all nations to all nations” to see the Great Commission fulfilled. We’ve been able to walk in discipleship with young people from 14 nations, and bring the Good News into 10 nations! We are honored that we’ve been able to witness the testimonies of God’s goodness “in every tribe and tongue.”

From our corner of the world to yours, we hope you are encouraged to “go and make disciples” using the gifts you’ve been entrusted with.

Carlos, Kirsten and Lucia
