My name is Jayonna Johnson and I am currently doing an internship with the Everyheart Movement.
Recently I went on EveryHeart's summer tour where I got to travel for 8 weeks in a van with 17 other on fire for Jesus lovers. The tour was a total of 10 weeks, and in that time we had intentional time of seeking the Lord before being sent out on the road to go into different cities to preach the Gospel, connect with local churches and just run after Jesus!
During this tour I felt the Lord speak to me about moving to Grand Rapids to begin pursuing full time missions and honestly, it was a huge leap of faith. At the time I talked to my leaders, prayed about it, and then I ended up having the opportunity to move to Grand Rapids to do a media internship with the Everyheart Movement.
In this internship I get the chance to be exposed to more of the EveryHeart culture and get a glimpse of what a missional life looks like. Within the realm of media I get to learn about what serving the Lord looks like through a lens through working on different projects and watching those around me do the same. I get to do this until February of 2026, when I will begin Discipleship Training School, where, for the first 3 months, I will  be gaining foundational knowledge of the character and nature of God, who He is, and in light of that, who I am. I will live in Christian community, participate in corporate worship and prayer, receive discipleship, and gain training from global ministry leaders.. And for another 3 months I will be sent out to preach the gospel on the streets of a specific region. This is done through traveling in a van with other young adult missionaries and week by week we are invited into different cities through a local church that we have the opportunity to come along side for the sake of the Gospel.
To go through this program I am currently in the process of raising $8500 ($4000 for the lecture phase and $4500 for the outreach phase) this covers; food, housing, and other needs for the duration of this program. Along with this, I am desiring to build a team of monthly or one time supporters as I am embarking on this new journey in Grand Rapids, Michigan before going into Discipleship Training Program.
Though I am not a full time missionary I am living partially as one. What this looks like is half of my week is spent committing to my role with the EveryHeart Movement and the other half working part time. With this I am not able to fully meet specific needs financially. Here is a breakdown of areas I am seeking support in:
• Rent/ utilities
• Transportation (to travel I am currently taking the bus/lyft but am believing the Lord for a car)
• Software subscriptions (for projects)
Taking this leap has been a huge blessing and have already seen the Lord provide in such beautiful ways and I am believing for Him to continue to do so.
