Jordan Good

Hi! My name is Jordan Good, I am 24 years old, and I am from Arizona.

I have recently joined a missionary base located on the big island in Kona Hawaii with the organization - Youth With A Mission (YWAM)! YWAM is the largest missionary sending organization in the world with over 30,000 workers and over 1,900 bases in 190 countries! The ministries YWAM focuses on are evangelism, training, and mercy ministries.

I am part of the staff team with a new discipleship training school (DTS) called Endeavor. Currently we have 99 students in Kona that are part of our school. Speakers are brought in during the lecture phase to teach on different aspects of knowing God and making God known. My role on staff is to help bring discipleship to these students, to walk with them and help them to encounter Jesus more deeply (or for the first time) and helping them learn how to follow Jesus with all that they are! Our DTS will run for 2.5 months in Kona, then I will be one of three staff members leading a team to Kenya! We are currently planning to be in Nairobi, Turkana County, and Mombasa for 2 months total.

Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

We are commanded to not just make converts but disciples! This discipleship training school allows us to work to put the Gospel deep into the hearts of students and help them to encounter God so that they leave as missionaries to wherever God has them next! Additionally, our work in Kenya will come alongside local ministries to reach Kenyans with the Gospel. In Kenya, 59.6% of the population is under 24 and 93.1% is under 55. It is said that by the year 2050, one fifth of people on the planet will be an African Christian. We will be doing outreach to youth which are such a vital population, as well as prison ministry and other local outreach in Nairobi. In Turkana County we will be driving into the desert to try and find unreached tribes and present things such as the Jesus Film. Finally in Mombasa, we will be doing a lot more Muslim outreach and relational evangelism. Kenyans also have open doors to reach Somalia which is a nation desperately in need of Jesus.

I have given up normal life to follow God’s calling on my life and to work to fulfill the Great Commission, to make disciples of all nations. I love this quote by C.S. Lewis: “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.” I have found the story of Jesus to not just be a good idea, but to actually be historically true and so this has compelled me to be doing missions work during this stage of my life.

The Bible teaches that every person we see is someone bound for an eternal heaven or hell. Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38).

We face a world with mammoth needs and the best response we can give is to yield our lives to God who is the Lord of the harvest. The Bible also describes how we fight not primarily a physical fight but instead a spiritual one.

The best way you can partner with me as we seek to fulfill the commands of the Lord is to keep me in prayer! Additionally, if the Lord leads you, I also certainly need finances to facilitate things like these missions’ trips to Kenya!

Please prayerfully consider partnering with me in this missionary work but also above all please keep me in your prayers!
