Hey! My name is Jordan Good and I am a missionary with the organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM) based in Kona, Hawaii and part of a ministry called Fire and Fragrance! YWAM is the largest missionary sending organization in the world with over 30,000 workers and over 2,000 bases in 200 countries! 

I did my Discipleship Training School in 2023 and really deepened my relationship with the Lord. We would do frequent evangelism on college campuses in southern California, and we also did a month outreach across the U.S. and another month in South Africa. Afterwards, I was a staff member on the YWAM Kona base to staff a Discipleship Training School and help lead a team into Kenya for two months! 

Throughout these experiences, as well as just living in the Phoenix, Arizona area, it is so clear to see the words of Jesus being played out in front of our eyes: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38). 

Jesus’s final command was: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Finally, C.S. Lewis writes, “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”

There are so many people far from Jesus and heading to an eternity separated from God if someone does not reach them. In the United States as well as in nations that are classified as unreached with the Gospel (less than 2% Christian), the world faces a mammoth need of Jesus. Even in reached nations, one just has to look around to see so many living far from Jesus. What will we do? Who will reach these before it is too late? 

I will be working to disciple students that come into the Discipleship Training Schools and help them deepen their relationship with God and help make them missionaries themselves, whether in the workplace or in the nations. Then I will help lead a team of students into a foreign nation for 2 months! The goal will be to make disciples who make other disciples, as well as reach others in areas desperately in need of the Gospel.

However, I do not get paid to do this and rely on my own savings and work as well as on the generosity of others who believe in me and believe in spreading the eternity-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.
