My name is Hernán Rivera. I am a 24-year-old Colombian, passionate about making Jesus known among unreached Indigenous communities.
Two years ago, at the beginning of this adventure of saying “YES” to Jesus, during a time of intercession, God showed me the face of an Indigenous child. In that moment, I became aware of the privilege I had of the Creator sharing His heart with me and entrusting me with this task: “That they may know Me too.” Today, I have been able to see how God has fulfilled His promises in my life. It has been a journey with many difficult seasons, but also with eternal rewards. Jesus has taught me through every challenge, and He has been glorified in the midst of each one.
I am part of a ministry at YWAM Cartagena focused on:
• Community development
• Bible translation
• Pastoral counseling
• Biblical discipleship
• Healthcare
All of this is focused on serving ethnic and Indigenous communities. In Colombia alone, there are more than 80 Indigenous peoples and more than 100 languages among communities that still have limited access to the Gospel and do not yet know Jesus deeply. So, there is still much work to be done…
As Paul said, there are those who go and those who send. So today, I want to invite you to become part of what is happening in South America among Indigenous communities. Become part of oral Bible translation and help make Jesus known in their mother tongues. Let’s go together to the last mountain, and become part of my financial support.
“This gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.” — Matthew 24:14
