Hi....my name is Heather Martin.  I am an independent full-time missionary following God's call to support the work of The Whispering Willow in Thailand.

The Whispering Willow, is dedicated to preventative measures and education aiming to dismantle societal structures that enable abuse and human rights violations: gender-based violence, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and sexual violence.

The Whispering Willow provides free education and vocational training; healthcare and mental health services; community development and family strengthening; substance abuse recovery and safe housing; and comprehensive employment programs.  

I will be using my 30+ years of business and ministry experience to strengthen the organization and businesses behind this work in two key areas:

1) Growing a new "friends of" nonprofit in the US to raise funds and support for The Whispering Willow in Thailand.

2) Strengthening and expanding the businesses that employ women recovering from human rights violations, poverty and substance abuse in Thailand

In order to do this, I am moving to Thailand for one year.  The Lord has clearly invited me into the work He is doing here and the work He is wanting to do in the future.  I am so honored and thankful to be called!
