My name is Geraldéne and I am with YWAM, Fire & Fragrance Himalayas.

I did a Discipleship Training School (DTS) in January 2021, with Fire & Fragrance South Africa and came to the Himalayas for the first time that year, as a part of my DTS outreach. During that outreach God started speaking to me about his people in the Himalayas and my role here.

In March of 2023 I finally moved to the Himalayas and have been serving here in many different ways. The dream? In short, the dream is firstly to make intercession on behalf of the people in the Himalayas and surrounding nations and to raise up intercessors in the local church. Secondly, to see the Word of God as a foundation for every home in the Himalayas and to see revival and reformation in each of these homes.

I have recently committed to be a part of a new team which will be sent out to a village within the next year, to start a prayer room, church planting and some discipleship schools amongst the unreached of the Himalayas. This location is also where I believe the Lord will use me to impact the family sphere more directly.

This is of course the long term dream and I am still in the beginning days, so here is a small break down of what ministry currently looks like for me:

I am a part of a team that consists of just over a 100 missionaries of both internationals and locals. At the moment my main role on our team is to serve in our prayer room where I help facilitate prayer times, co-lead our kids prayer ministry and teach in some of our discipleship schools on prayer and intercession.

I staffed our first Discipleship Bible School in 2024 and will be school leading the same school in 2025. This is unto seeing locals have a clearer understanding of the word of God and multiplication in discipleship and Bible studies in the local church.

To fulfill my visa requirements, I am also busy working on a research project to see what the need is for education for parents in knowing how they can support their children during the early developmental years. I believe that this is the open doors that will aid in connection with families.
