My name is Erik Roush, and I serve as a leader on the evangelism team with Prayer House Ministry here in Wilmington, North Carolina. Our mission is simple but powerful — to love people like Jesus did, one person at a time, to see the body of Christ encouraged and empowered through prayer and sent out to do as Jesus did! I’ve seen firsthand how a single conversation, a prayer, or a moment of compassion can open someone’s heart to the love of God. That’s what drives me every day on this mission field, to step out in boldness and in faith! Jesus always shows up.
At Prayer House, we believe genuine revival begins in prayer and overflows into action. We spend time seeking the Lord together — worshiping, praying for each other, interceding for our families and community, and asking Him to move powerfully in the hearts of people. We receive His love and then we go out and share it! Just as Jesus sent His disciples, to share the good news and to show His love one person at a time. Our team regularly ministers on the UNCW campus, downtown Wilmington, and Wrightsville Beach — meeting people where they are, praying for needs, and sharing the message of hope and salvation in Jesus Christ.
My personal calling and ministry is not about large crowds or grand platforms — it’s about personal encounters. It’s about stopping for the one, listening to their story, and reminding them that God sees them and loves them. Every outreach, every conversation, and every moment of prayer is an opportunity for God to transform a life. One person at a time. The gospel is the power of God to save souls. This has proven to have immediate impact in the person's heart and leads to generational impact in the future.
To continue this work, I’m inviting others to join me — both in prayer and financial support. In order for me to give myself fully to ministry in this season, it takes consistent resources to sustain our outreach efforts and to steward my time faithfully with Prayer House. My mission is to build up the body of Christ, and that happens best when a community of believers stands together in faith for what God is doing.
I believe the harvest is ripe in our city. We’re seeing hearts softened, lives changed, and hope restored through the gospel, but this is only the beginning. I’d love to invite you to partner with me as I keep reaching people one by one with the love of Jesus. Together, we can make an eternal impact in Wilmington and beyond.
Erik
