Hi everyone!

My name is Elizabeth Kazas and I have been given the privilege of serving with Youth With a Mission Mazatlan at their campus in Durango, Mexico. This is where I attended a five-month long Discipleship Training School in September 2024 and where I am now being called to serve as staff for this next season of my life. 

YWAM Mazatlan’s Durango campus has a focus on reaching the local community of Durango, of Mexico, and all nations. 

Locally we are involved in several different ministries, including university and rehab center evangelism, a children’s feeding center, and Homes of Hope, a ministry through YWAM that builds homes for those in need. 

We reach Mexico and the nations of the world through Deep Roots ministry, which is designed to evangelize to indigenous groups through teaching of farming skills, OMT (Oral Mother Tongue) a project aimed at translating the Bible orally to every indigenous language in Mexico, and through our Discipleship Training School, a five-month long program where students from many different nations attend three months of Bible lectures and two months of outreach.  

Personally, I believe my calling as a missionary is to serve and teach people of this generation and the next of all nations, seeing people living not in religion but an active relationship with their Creator, and to support the family of God. In Durango I hope to be able to do this in any way I can and am ready for however that will look like. 

Because Youth With A Mission is a non-profit organization, those of us living and serving on the base do not take a paycheck from YWAM, but we are given the responsibility to raise our own monthly support. Personally, I am hoping to raise around $1000 USD in monthly support. I know that everything belongs to God and that, because He is the one calling me, He will provide the way for me to be there. 

However, I also firmly believe that God likes to involve us in what He is doing! A ministry is only effective when it functions as a body in which members support each other and do what the other cannot. I invite you to begin to ask Him if the vision He has given me to disciple people of my generation in Durango in this next season is something that He wants you to partner with.
