Hello, I’m Emma Ferguson from Quincy, IL.  I am 19 years old and I’m doing a DTS (Discipleship Training School) with YWAM in Kona, HI.

I joined YWAM this year to obey Gods call on my life. In only 6 weeks it has already proven to be a transformative time in my life.  I am growing closer to Him and hearing His voice more clearly on how He is directing me forward in my life. Jesus is more real to me now that I know I am doing what I know He has called me to do.

 Next month I will be going to Burundi & Kenya with my team of 12 people, also from YWAM, to do hands on ministry there. We will be working with the locals there to share the message of Christs love and build up churches there! We will also be caring for the tangible needs of children and adults in the communities where we will be staying for approximately 3 months.  I admit I started out a bit nervous about going to such a remote part of the world, and while I certainly plan to be wise, I am so excited and ready to step out in faith to reach someone who may not be reached otherwise.  I am so excited to see what God has in store for us there!  

YWAM’s primary focus is on knowing God and making Him known. YWAM stands for Youth with a Mission. While we have been in training in Kona, HI, we have been spending 10-12 hours a day building and honing our skills, developing character, and growing in knowledge and deeper in Worship - all to help bring revival and reformation to Africa. YWAM is working to get the Gospel to the hardest and darkest places of the World by fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus.  I am honored to be a small part of that.  

To fulfill this calling in my life right now, I am raising awareness and trusting God to meet my needs and expenses.  I will have expenses for everything like travel, food, supplies, and more that I need raise. While financial support is important and needed, so also is prayer! God is faithful and has already gotten me this far and I know He will continue to provide.
