Hi friends! My name is Daniel Opazo, and I am a full-time missionary serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) at YWAM Urbano Maipú, in Chile. I am married to my wonderful wife, Yaritza Rubio, and we are expecting our first child — a new and exciting season of life that fills us with joy and gratitude!
My journey into missions began in 2021 when I completed my Discipleship Training School (DTS) with YWAM. During that season, God confirmed a clear and specific calling on my life to serve full-time as a missionary. From that moment, I stepped fully into ministry and have never looked back.
Today I lead the Mobilization and Evangelism area at YWAM Urbano Maipú through a ministry called Primitive — focused on street evangelism, outreach tours, seminars, and workshops on evangelism, missions, and Christian apologetics. Through Primitive, we are reaching between 100 to 200 people with the gospel every month, while also receiving and mobilizing outreach teams both within Chile and around the world. At the heart of my calling is a deep burden to reform the thinking of believers, mobilize Chileans and Latinos toward the mission field, and inspire the local church to step outside its four walls and truly engage the world around them.
My wife Yaritza carries a powerful calling of her own. She focuses on the eradication of biblical poverty through Bible teaching in a variety of contexts, and she also directs Fundación Ciudad de Paz, one of the key ministries of our base, bringing hope and transformation to vulnerable communities.
