Hello everyone! I’m Caleb Toro. I’m 19 years old, and I’m working to become a full time missionary!

I recently finished the Fire & Fragrance Discipleship Training School with YWAM Kona. I spent 3 months learning about how to share the Gospel, receiving a heart for The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), and gaining a deeper, intimate relationship with Jesus.

Besides gaining new intimacy in my relationship with Jesus, I was gripped with the Great Commission. I learned that there are still 3.2 billion people in the world that have not heard of Jesus Christ. It is also estimated that there are only 400,000 full time missionaries serving in other countries, and only 3% of them work with unreached people groups. Through multiple encounters with the Holy Spirit in Kona, God showed me how much He loves each of these people still. He showed me how Jesus died for each and every one of them, and desires to have relationship with them! The problem was, these people won’t be able to truly know Him unless someone goes. God revealed to me my calling to reach the unreached, and see the Great Commission completed.

After my 3 months in Kona, I spent 3 months on outreach in the Himalayas. I was in a country that I can’t name for security reasons, but had 27 million unreached people. Our team was a trekking team, so we went on 2 6 day hikes. We trekked many bibles to Hindu and Buddhist villages, and saw hundreds hear the gospel for the first time. When we weren’t trekking we did street evangelism, children’s ministry, worked alongside long term missionaries, and we worked in slums.

For my next steps in missions I’ll be returning to YWAM Kona. Starting on April 10th I’ll be attending a 3 month Bible course called Discipleship Bible School (DBS). Here I’ll be spending a minimum of 45 hours a week studying the Bible. The main focus is to get a solid foundation in God’s Word, and encountering God in the Bible. This course will end on June 30th, and I will immediately be going into Leadership Track. This is a 3 month development training course for those interested in Staffing the Fire and Fragrance DTS. Here I will be serving and discipling DTS students for 3 months starting September 28th. I will also be building an outreach team during these 3 months. In December I will lead the outreach team on a 2 1/2 month missions trip somewhere around the world. I do not know the location yet. The 6 months of staffing is a 2 year commitment, so I intend to staff the same DTS in 2025.

For now, this is my 2 year vision. I simply want to seek Jesus, and do my part in fulfilling The Great Commission. In 3 years I’d like to be overseas as a full-time missionary!
