Hello! My name is Brooke, and I am about to join the staff at YWAM Ships in Papua New Guinea and Townsville, Australia to serve the native people of PNG.

My call to missions has been surprising journey that had many stops and starts throughout the years. God called me to the mission field when I was seventeen years old but at nineteen, I wandered from God and no longer had interest in serving Him this way.

When I returned to Him at twenty-four, foreign missions was the furthest thing from my mind. Although I participated in ministries as a worship leader, prophetic team member, and even did some teaching/preaching back in the States, going to the nations wasn’t on my radar… not even a little!

In 2017, my life was disrupted yet again, and I returned to college to finish my Bachelor’s degree in English followed by a Master’s in Creative Writing. While completing my degree, I had no idea God had intentions to use my writing gift. Shortly after graduating, I moved to California where I worked as an editor/writer for a Christian human rights organization, supporting persecuted Christians worldwide. That’s when Jesus began stirring my heart for the nations again, giving me compassion for those suffering around the world.

About two years into my work with the organization, I felt God leading me out of my position there. I didn’t understand why God would allow me to leave a job I loved so much but without a job, I had a lot of extra hours to spend with the Lord. I remember distinctly telling Him, “I’ll do whatever you tell me to do—no matter what it is! Just tell me what I’m supposed to do!”

That is a dangerous prayer, friends.

Through a series of prophetic dreams, the Holy Spirit began to unfold His plans for me—very specific plans—and in a matter of a couple months, I found myself at YWAM missions training school in Kona, Hawaii embarking on the adventure of my life.

Since then, Jesus has made His mission clear to me step by step. It has been a matter of learning to closely listen to Him and obey His leading—even when it sounded completely crazy!

I will be working with the communications team as a mission builder in the beginning, followed by an outreach in PNG where I will work as a journalist and writer, chronicling the amazing stories of healing on YWAM Medical Ships while getting to minister to PNG natives through evangelism, prayer, and Bible distribution—after that, I will continue to pray about coming on staff with Ships full-time—doing the work of fulfilling the Great Commission.

The call to PNG was also a surprising one. My heart was to work with creatives and artists in Europe, so when he began giving me visions, dreams, and prophetic words from others that He had much different plans for me, I didn’t know quite how to receive it. As I’ve been asking God what He wants me to know about my time in PNG, He has given me the verse from Matthew 25:40: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Serving the poor isn’t a glamorous job—it’s not one I would have expected—but it is one of the most complete ways to know the heart of Jesus.

Right now, I’m looking for a team who will support me with prayer and finances as I obey the leadership of Jesus. Will you consider being a part of my support team? In the beginning, I will need finances for a flight from England (where I’m at now) to Townsville Australia (anywhere from $900-$1,300), money for food (about $6 a day) and housing ($7 a day) at the base while I mission build, funding for personal expenses like my phone bill and other items needed for living, flight from Townsville to PNG (another $300), and the outreach fees ($555) I need to complete my mission there. As I continue to pray about remaining on staff, I will need similar expenses for housing, food, and other personal expenses—but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. I need both monthly supporters and supporters that will provide one-time (or two-time) gifts for my upcoming outreaches.

Please prayerfully consider my invitation to partner with me on this beautiful mission of serving Jesus. I also want to be an encouragement and support to you on your journey with Jesus so please share with me how I can pray for you.
