Bivin’s Mission Japan | Missionaries to Japan

We are Bivin and Tzuhan Poole, missionaries serving through Bivin’s Mission Japan, with a calling to reach the lost, strengthen the Church, and equip believers for service.

Bivin is originally from Miami, Florida, and first came to Japan in 1996. For 30 years, Japan has been a significant part of his life and calling. A graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Communications, Bivin has used English education, personal development, fitness, discipleship, and Christian training as avenues for building relationships and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.

Tzuhan is originally from Taipei, Taiwan, and holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics. She shares a heart for teaching, encouragement, discipleship, and cross-cultural ministry. Together, we have devoted our lives to serving people in Japan and helping believers grow deeper in their relationship with God.

Why Japan?

Japan is one of the world’s most developed nations, yet it remains a significant and often overlooked mission field. Only about 0.4% of the population is evangelical, and approximately 98% of Japan’s population lives among unreached people groups. Japan also has one of the largest Buddhist populations in the world, while many Japanese people identify as religiously unaffiliated.

For us, these are more than statistics. They represent millions of people—individuals, families, young people, and entire communities—who need the opportunity to hear the Gospel and experience the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

In 2017, our years of outreach developed into Bivin’s Mission Japan, with the mission:

“To Teach, Equip and Empower Christians for Service through the Ministry of Sonship.”

Our ministry includes personal evangelism, small-group discipleship, English outreach, Christian training and coaching, seminars and workshops, online ministry, and encouraging greater unity and cooperation within the Body of Christ.

After many years of serving independently, we are now building a stronger team of churches, prayer partners, and financial supporters who share our heart for reaching Japan. We believe the Great Commission was never intended to be accomplished alone. It takes the Body of Christ working together, with each person doing his or her part.
