My name is Brea Burnett, and my life is a living testimony of God’s incredible power to redeem, restore, and repurpose even the darkest of stories. I was trafficked at the age of eight and remained in “the life” until I was 17. It was only by the grace of God—and the help of a kind family and a few faithful mentors—that I was able to find a way out. My path has been anything but easy, but even in the midst of trauma, pain, and loneliness, the Lord never let go of me.
After escaping trafficking, I longed deeply for a family, for a place to belong. At 20 years old, while attending Bible school, I moved in with a family from my church. Just five months later, they asked to adopt me. Today, I am a daughter, a sister, and an aunt—surrounded by a loving family that reflects God’s faithfulness and healing power. My story is not just about survival—it’s about restoration, and now, about mission.
Through my ministry, Scarlet Compass, I help individuals discover where they can step into the fight against human trafficking. I share my story at churches, conferences, and public events—not just to raise awareness, but to awaken people to action. Whether through prevention, aftercare, advocacy, or legislation, there is a place for everyone in this fight. I am especially passionate about engaging in policy and legislative reform and encouraging others to speak up, get involved, and influence change.
But I cannot do this work alone. I need a community of people who will stand with me in prayer and financial support. Your prayers sustain me through the ongoing spiritual and emotional battles, and your generosity helps expand the reach and impact of Scarlet Compass.
Together, we can be a voice for the voiceless, bring justice to the exploited, and proclaim that there is freedom and healing for all who call on the name of Jesus.
