Hi! I’m Amanda Stangland, a missionary serving with YWAM Tokyo in Japan!
God has put Japan on my heart since 2011, and to serve there now is such a dream come true! I want to see people of Japan encounter God’s love through worship, art, hospitality, patience, and however else I can partner with what the Holy Spirit is doing in this nation.
There are 126.8 MILLION people living in Japan. Only about 1.5 percent of this number claims faith in Jesus. I believe that there is nothing more important in every human heart than to hear that they are made to be loved by God. That true freedom and identity, true life, comes from this beautiful surrender of us giving our life back to Him and entering into the connection He always intended for us to have.
I love to watch people become awakened to the goodness of God. Seeing people who were once doubtful or self-hating become filled with hope and zeal to love others fearlessly is such a joy. I look forward to being planted in a community where I can walk beside others consistently. I especially have a heart to serve youth and young women, and encourage Japanese believers as well as reach out to non-believers. My desire is that I can be a part of making long-term disciples who learn to love and be loved by their creator in every aspect of their life continually, and that this would spread not just to their community, but to future generations.
I am so excited and grateful that God has called me to participate in what He’s doing in Japan.
You praying and partnering with me in this means so much! Thank you!!
