Missionary Profile:

Meet Abdul Karim Papanie Turay, official missionary with Youth with A Mission (YWAM) and Father to the Fatherless Ministry.

Testimony:

Growing up as a street orphan in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Abdul experienced firsthand the transformative power of God's love through a Christian organization. This calling led them to serve on Mercy Ships in West Africa and Madagascar, where they encountered fatherless boys living in dire circumstances.

Calling:

Moved by compassion, Abdul is answering the call to reach out to these boys, providing father-figure mentorship, skill-building workshops, and Bible studies. Currently completing Discipleship Training School (DTS) with YWAM in South Africa, Abdul will soon deploy to Madagascar to serve with Father to the Fatherless Ministry.

Vision Statement:

Empowering fatherless boys to become strong Christian leaders through intentional mentorship, practical skill development, and spiritual guidance, reflecting the heart of a loving Father.

 Mission:

We provide father-mentorship, skill-building workshops, and Bible studies to support fatherless boys and nurture their personal and spiritual growth. Our goal is to equip them to become productive individuals and impactful Christian leaders, honoring God and serving.

Partner with us in prayer and support as we bring hope to Madagascar's fatherless boys.

My Newsletter

Greetings filled with love, peace, and joy! I trust that you and your family are doing well by the grace of our good Lord. We are now in the 9th week of our DTS (Discipleship Training School) program, and I feel led to know God and make Him known to others in the Nation

I am incredibly grateful for this humbling experience! Learning about God's heart has transformed my view of Him. He is my Father, and understanding the Father's heart has revealed to me just how much God loves me. I realize now that I am a son of God, accepted fully through my relationship with Him. I have belonged to Him even before I was born. The Holy Spirit is teaching me that He is always there to provide wisdom and encouragement. I have embraced the gifts of healing and prophecy, and I am committed to building strong relationships with them.

Outreach and Ministry

After seven weeks in class, we headed out for 5 days of outreach in various locations. We are excited to share the love of Jesus with the children we will be ministering to. We conducted school ministry, ran a feeding program at different home centers, and went out at 8 PM for street ministry to feed the kids. We prayed, worshiped, and shared the good news with them.

Lessons from the Field

Through hands-on ministry, I've learned that connection with the Lord is paramount. We begin every endeavor with prayer, seeking His guidance and empowerment. We also gather feedback to ensure we're aligned with God's will, making adjustments as needed.

Jesus taught us to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. When we first love the Lord, we can then share that love with others.

My name is Abdul. So many people have had misconceptions about my identity in Christ based on my name, but God has shown me the truth,  I used to feel ashamed of my name, Abdul Karim, because it is a Muslim name. YWAM has taught me that my name does not define my identity in Jesus. Here, I go by Abdul, but Papanie is also acceptable to me. I want you to know that I have been sending prayers through Pravin, and I am sending prayer requests under Abdul Karim Papanie Turay.

Prayer Points

1. Please continue to pray for Madagascar as we recover from the cyclone. Schools have reopened, but power outages persist, and some families have been displaced. We pray that God restores homes and brings healing to those affected.

2. Pray for the outreach opportunities for some of our students who have not yet received support, and that God will prepare the way for us.

3. After my DTS, I am going back to Madagascar, but I currently do not have housing. Please pray that God provides the funds needed for housing and essential items for my stay. Alvine and Jonath are currently living with their mother.
