Missionary Adam Chessum DONATE My name is Adam, and I serve with FOCUS Military Ministry, walking alongside young men and women as they begin their journey in the Australian Defence Force. I grew up in northeast Victoria and came to trust in Jesus at the age of nineteen. Over the years, I’ve trained in ministry through a Ministry Apprenticeship and study at Moore College, and I’ve served in churches and university student ministry. Now, I am excited to bring this experience to support recruits and trainees as they find their feet, build resilience, and grow in their faith and character. Our ministry is simple and personal: we invest in people. I spend my time listening, mentoring, opening the Bible with those who are keen, and providing a steady presence during some of the most formative years of their lives. Whether it’s meeting on campus, grabbing a coffee after class, or helping a trainee adjust to military life, my role is to be someone they can trust—someone who reminds them they’re not alone. This work happens through meaningful conversations, building relationships, and being present in the lives of those who are preparing to serve our nation. As a small team, we rely heavily on prayer and encouragement from those who care about the spiritual well-being of Defence members. Your prayers genuinely shape the work—military life can change quickly, and wisdom is essential. To keep serving in this space, I also depend on a team of financial partners who believe in what we’re doing and want to make a tangible difference in the lives of recruits and trainees. Missionary Annika Judisch DONATE Hello!!! My name is Annika Judisch, and I’m currently in missions with YWAM! I did my DTS in January of 2025 in Kona, and had my outreach in Uganda, Africa. Jesus completely changed my life bringing me to YWAM, and my journey isn’t quite over! This fall I went to Norway with YWAM Fire & Fragrance leadership track to be trained and equipped to lead a team and disciple youth this coming January! I have been selected to staff this coming DTS in Kona with them, and will be leading a team to the Nations this coming spring. My heart longs for people to KNOW Jesus, the Man who changed my life, and who created them to do the exact same thing. I can say with confidence that every Nation, Tribe, and Tongue belongs to Jesus Christ. With YWAM being all volunteer work and no income, I need your help on the journey! FOCUS Military Ministry Ministry Organization Donate About FOCUS Military Ministry FOCUS Military Ministry is a Christian ministry — independent of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) — made up of staff and volunteers who serve on ADF training bases across Australia. We are committed to “making Christ known in the ADF.” Our vision is that everyone joining the ADF would have an opportunity to know the Lord Jesus and consider what it means to follow Him. https://www.focusmilitary.org.au/who-we-are To see this vision realised, FOCUS works through four key priorities: engaging current and future trainees to consider Christ, proclaiming the gospel clearly, equipping Christians for Christ-centred lives within the ADF, and connecting with churches and supporters outside Defence to strengthen the work. How We Work FOCUS ministries operate directly on ADF training bases through voluntary Bible discussions, one-to-one mentoring, and social activities that help trainees explore faith and form supportive Christian community. Each week many centres host open gatherings known as “FOCUS Nights,” where Scripture is read, the gospel is taught, prayer is shared, and friendships are formed. Missionaries JP & Brittany Tollenaar DONATE JP and Brittany are full-time missionaries in Bangkok, Thailand. Their focus is on anti-exploitation and discipleship. Brittany spends most of her time with anti-trafficking organizations through red-light outreach. She is passionate about expressing the love and hope of Jesus to those who have been marginalized and exploited. JP works with those exiting exploitive work situations to provide better futures. He also disciples new believers and men struggling with addiction. Brittany and JP are building a team of partners that will support them with $2,000 a month. We are overjoyed to share that we’re in the process of adopting— Lord willing, two children—from Kyrgyzstan! This journey has been years in the making, filled with prayer, questions, patience, and so much anticipation as we’ve moved closer to taking this step. Missionary Jasmine Shipley DONATE Hello everyone! My name is Jasmine, and I serve full-time as a missionary with Circuit Riders, a branch of YWAM. I have the privilege of serving a branch within the movement called Black Voices Movement—an initiative committed to evangelism and discipleship across HBCU campuses nationwide. We partner with campus ministries, host outreach events, and equip students to reach their peers with the Gospel. I grew up knowing about Jesus, but in January 2023 I fully surrendered my life to Him. Since then, the Lord has given me a deep burden for my generation—so many searching for hope, belonging, and real love. I’ve been in that place myself, confused and longing for purpose, and God met me with such tenderness. Because of what He’s done in my life, I’m passionate about sharing the Truth and reminding young people that they are not alone. If He could transform my life, He can do the same for them.
