Missionary Avery Morrow DONATE My name is Avery Morrow, and I'm a 23-year-old from Grande Prairie, Alberta. If you asked the people closest to me to describe me, they'd probably say I'm spontaneous, adventurous, joyful, and deeply in love with Jesus. I first met Jesus when I was six years old during a difficult season in my family, and He has faithfully walked with me ever since. Although I called myself a Christian for many years, there was a time when my faith was more about looking the part than truly knowing God. As I began spending time reading Scripture for myself, the Lord convicted and transformed my heart. He has brought incredible freedom from a long struggle with pornography, continues to shape me into His likeness, and has replaced my insecurity and need for people's approval with the confidence that comes from knowing what Christ has done for me. Today, my greatest desire is no longer to seek affirmation from others, but to love and serve people as an overflow of God's grace in my own life. Recently, God has been teaching me the importance of community, humility, prayer, and thanksgiving. Learning to cast my anxieties on Him has brought a peace that I never thought possible, even in the middle of real challenges. These lessons have deepened my relationship with Christ and strengthened my desire to help others experience the same freedom and joy that come from walking closely with Him. Looking back, God has used opportunities like traveling to Egypt, serving on a mission trip to Uganda, and especially participating in the Titus Project—a ministry focused on teaching people how to read and study the Bible for themselves—to prepare me for what He is calling me to next. This fall, I will be serving on staff with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Kona in the School of Biblical Studies, where I expect to serve for the next two years, and possibly longer. My role will include mentoring and encouraging students, leading small groups, helping grade assignments, supporting campus worship, teaching some books of the Bible, and walking alongside students throughout their studies. What excites me most is seeing the Bible come alive for students, just as it did for me. I have a particular heart for the young men who arrive hoping that a new environment will fix their struggles, because I know firsthand that lasting transformation doesn't come from a change in surroundings—it comes through encountering God's grace in Jesus Christ. My prayer is that students would not simply gain biblical knowledge, but that they would truly know the Lord and be equipped to continue studying His Word for the rest of their lives. As I step into this ministry, I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider partnering with me. We are also involved with the local church where we live providing counseling and also supporting rehabilitation centers with teaching about addiction recovery models. 1 - Foundations for Counseling Ministry School (FCM) Is a first level counseling course to learn the basic skills of active listening, belief systems, hearing the voice of God. We see the connection of how beliefs impact our behaviors. We look at the roots of rejection and rebellion (Plumbline), family systems, attachment and bonding through developmental stages, trauma, human sexuality, and a variety of other counseling topics. 2-Addictive Behavior Counseling School (ABC). The vision of the Addictive Behavior Ministry International is multi-fold: To bring freedom to individuals and families caught in the bondage of addiction. To equip and motivate people from many cultures to work alongside existing ministries. To establish various addiction ministries. It is a response to the appeal of Christ for people from all cultures to embrace the work of the cross and as broken vessels being restored, offer good news and hope to others. The reason we are involved in the ministry of counseling is because we understand the importance of caring for our missionaries. Running this course, we offer to the students a time of refreshment and renovation for their strength so that they can continue to fulfill their calling. The mission field is a big challenge and many struggles come in our way; people can really get hurt but our heavenly Father will never give up on us, He always will be there with us and for us. We value people for who they are, investing in people's lives has a very high priority to us. Missionary Annika Pape DONATE Hey y’all! My name is Annika Pape and I am a missionary serving the Lord with YWAM (Youth With A Mission)! The Lord had put missions on my heart while growing up and after high school, but I explored other options because I never thought it would be possible to be sustained as a missionary. Then in January of 2023, I felt the Lord clearly call me into full-time missions while I was serving at YWAM Kona. I served there for 9 months from September ‘22 to June ‘23 as a 7th grade homeroom/assistant teacher. After that, I officially started my missionary journey in September of ‘23 when I did a Discipleship Training School at YWAM Mazatlan, Mexico. My DTS outreach was 2 months long in Mexico and the Amazons and I got to see the Lord work in beautiful ways. I am passionate about leading and discipling the youth to come to know Jesus in a personal way and to find fullness of life in Him! This is what I hope to do in missions as well as whatever else the Lord calls me to do. God has also given me a heart for people of different nations and I love being able to share the love of Jesus with people who don’t know Him. Those are just a few reasons why I’m so excited to become a full-time missionary! :) In September ‘24, I will return to YWAM Mazatlan to do a three month internship and then Lord-willing, commit to being on staff there for the next 2 years. This will help me grow and develop as a missionary through serving the Lord on the YWAM base, in the city of Mazatlan, and leading DTS outreach teams of young people to the nations to share the Gospel and build God’s Kingdom. I have felt the Lord calling me to go back to YWAM Mazatlan and serve Him there and I am so excited for all that He has planned for me to do there. Missionary Hernan Rivera DONATE My name is Hernán Rivera. I am a 24-year-old Colombian, passionate about making Jesus known among unreached Indigenous communities. Two years ago, at the beginning of this adventure of saying “YES” to Jesus, during a time of intercession, God showed me the face of an Indigenous child. In that moment, I became aware of the privilege I had of the Creator sharing His heart with me and entrusting me with this task: “That they may know Me too.” Today, I have been able to see how God has fulfilled His promises in my life. It has been a journey with many difficult seasons, but also with eternal rewards. Jesus has taught me through every challenge, and He has been glorified in the midst of each one. I am part of a ministry at YWAM Cartagena focused on: • Community development • Bible translation • Pastoral counseling • Biblical discipleship • Healthcare All of this is focused on serving ethnic and Indigenous communities. In Colombia alone, there are more than 80 Indigenous peoples and more than 100 languages among communities that still have limited access to the Gospel and do not yet know Jesus deeply.
