Nathan and Wendy Cripe

Nathan and Wendy are following God’s leading to serve as full-time missionaries with YWAM/Homes of Hope, along with their children, Olivia and Reid.

Nathan and Wendy often felt called to serve Christ through missions. For a season, their mission field was serving their adopted special needs son, who had been abused and had a severe traumatic brain injury and many resulting complications. After 5 years of caring for him, his aggressive behaviors had become unsafe for their family and they needed outside assistance. God provided help through Open Arms Care, where he is now residing at a small home with 24/7 care and access to many excellent special needs school and extracurricular programs. He calls home often and the Cripes are involved in continued decision making for his care through conference calls, etc. As their role in his care has changed, they are once again feeling called to serve, this time through YWAM and the Homes of Hope ministry.

Nathan looks forward to using his years of construction experience to help build homes for people in poverty and minister to their families, with his family ministering right alongside him. They will also be involved in other community outreach and campus-based ministries at YWAM’s San Antonio Del Mar base in Mexico.

The Cripe family will be headed down to the base for Discipleship Training School in September, where they will spend three months of school and ministry on campus, followed by 2 months of outreach in another foreign country. After their training, they plan to work on building their support team and moving long-term to Mexico to join the YWAM/Homes of Hope staff.

Homes of Hope has been building homes for people in poverty since 1990, showing families Christ’s love by meeting their physical needs. God has used this ministry to bring people to Him, save marriages, provide safety, and improve health. YWAM has been sending out missionaries since the 1960’s, and this location is one of their many training bases as well as the original Homes of Hope base.

The Cripes are excited and humbled that God would invite them to join Him in this ministry, and they can’t wait to share His love with others in such practical ways!

A verse that has meant a lot to their family over the years is Joshua 1:9, “This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

The Cripes would be honored to have you partner with their team, either through prayer and/or through financial assistance, so that they can minister in Mexico! They are so blessed by those who are giving to expand Christ’s Kingdom work…. demonstrating how the body of Christ works together in different capacities, but as one body, according to 1 Corinthians 12. Through your giving, the poor are given homes, many are shown Christ’s love, and many missionaries are being sent to others in need all over the world. Proverbs 19:17 says, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.”

Thank you so much for your prayers and support! May God bless you mightily!
