Hi! We are Nathan and Taia Updike, full time missionaries with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Fire & Fragrance in Kailua-Kona Hawaii!

We will be living long-term overseas in Turkey beginning December of 2022.

Fire & Fragrance is a ministry of YWAM, focused on training Gen. Z. We want to develop young leaders that carry fire in their hearts for Jesus that becomes the fragrance of Christ to the lost. We believe that the Great Commandment and Great Commission are tied together and as we grow in love for Jesus, we encounter his heart for the lost and are compelled to go to the nations.

We came to Kona in 2017 to do a DTS (Discipleship Training School) and had our lives radically transformed by Jesus. We were gripped with God’s heart for the nations and knew that we both had a missional calling over our lives.

We’ve spent the last 5 years in YWAM Kona, leading teams across the world on outreach and serving locally as well. God invited us in 2021 to move to Turkey long term and we said YES!

Over the past few years in missions, we’ve become more convinced than ever that the Lord is worthy of our “Yes!” to move overseas. We believe that through the power of prayer and worship, we will see nations transformed.

We are committed to being God’s hands and feet in this land, following the call of The Great Commission to the ends of the earth. We have faith that we will see the youth of Turkey carry a fire in their hearts for Jesus and stir a movement in the Middle East through the power of the Gospel.
