Yo, friends and fam!
For those who don’t know already that I, Marcus, have answered a call. A call that takes huge sacrifice and dedication. I’ve given away the majority of all my belongings, quit my job and packed up to leave with just a backpack and a carry-on bag full of clothes, to begin a new life as a missionary. More specifically, a new life surrendered as a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ.
I joined an organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM), which is a worldwide family focused on getting to know Christ and make him known to all nations. I flew down to Mazatlan, Mexico to one out of thousands of YWAM bases to attend their Discipleship Training School (DTS). There, I learned and grew in my intimacy and relationship with the creator. This led me to my discovery of own identity and showed me how to see my brothers and sisters through His eyes. I served many ministries in Mazatlan during my lecture phase and in multiple cities in Baja California Sur during my outreach phase. I’ve had the blessing of being able to witness God move supernaturally in many miraculous ways and in many different lives already. I know He has more for me to witness as I keep walking this road with Him. Matthew 22:14 says “For many are called, but few are chosen”. I know He has called and chosen me to serve Him, but like every relationship, I had to choose Him back. And it’s been the best decision of my entire life.
I recently graduated from DTS and have been called to serve Him and His kingdom for eternity. Being a disciple isn’t an occupation or career, but a lifestyle. It’s who we are as believers in Jesus. Since my DTS graduation in November of 2019, I’ve been doing my best to live out my calling. God continues to give me opportunities to minister His love to the world.
Next week, I will be embarking on my next adventure to New Zealand to start off the new year of 2020. I’ll be attending an internship at the YWAM Furnace base in Tauranga, NZ. I will continue to develop myself as a disciple and further pursue the heart of the Father in everything I do. I have given my gifts and my heart for pastoring to God to be used on the mission field as I continue to yield and obey His spirit, wherever He sends me.
As a full-time missionary, I am solely reliant on my faith in Jesus to provide for my needs physically, mentally, spiritually and financially. If you’re interested in partnering with me on my journey, I’d love to share more with you about my life and what the Lord is doing through it. I’d also love to be someone to help encourage and pray with you, so don’t be afraid to reach out! I’m beyond thankful for all those who support me in this radical walk with God as He continues to transform my life and all those who I’m blessed to touch through it. It wouldn’t be possible to be the hands and feet of Jesus without those of you who support those who go out to reach the lost and broken.
I’d love to keep in contact and send out updates to all my supporters on how the Lord is moving. You can email me at marcusburrrelljr13@gmail.com or find me on Facebook.
God bless you!
Love, Marcus
