Hello! My name is Loden VanDeWalker!

I am a full time missionary with an organization called Youth With A Mission (also known as YWAM). I am based in Kona, Hawaii, where I am staffing a discipleship training school (DTS) called Fire and Fragrance.

Our main mission is to be completely surrendered and sold out for Jesus. Worship and Intercession is at the center of everything we do. We want to send out young people who have hearts that are burning for Jesus. We want to go to every part of the world, to share the love and good news He offers.

I did my DTS in Kona, Hawaii, in January 2022. During that time the Lord gave me a heart for missions. Originally, I had my life planned out - I knew what college I wanted to attend and which career path I wanted to pursue. Yet the more I said yes to Jesus the more I heard Him telling me to return to Hawaii and staff the Fire and Fragrance DTS. This was confirmed to me while I was on my outreach in Brazil. As I saw people encountering Jesus and receiving complete healing, I realized that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I have made a commitment to staff at YWAM Kona for the next two years. My role will include serving the leaders, mentoring students, and helping with whatever is needed on base. I will then help co-lead a team of students for three months to do an outreach in a country not yet determined. There, we will do street evangelism, house visits, and acts of service. For the following months I will be serving the base, staffing another DTS, and potentially receiving more specific training.
