Hi, my name is Loden VanDeWalker!

I am a full-time missionary with an organization called Youth With A Mission (also known as YWAM). I am based in Kona, Hawaii where I’m staffing the worship and prayer department called YWAM Kona Music. My job includes leading worship for the staff and students on base as well as maintaining our prayer room. We also partner with churches on the island for local outreaches.

YWAM Kona Music’s main mission is to be fully surrendered and sold out for Jesus. Worship and intercession is at the center of everything we do, and we want to send out young people who have hearts that are burning for Jesus. We want to go to every part of the world to share the love and the good news He offers.

I did my DTS in Kona, Hawaii in January 2022. During that time the Lord gave me a heart for missions. Originally, I had my life planned out—I knew what college I wanted to attend and what career path I wanted to pursue. Yet, the more I said yes to Jesus the more I heard Him telling me to return to Hawaii and staff at the YWAM base. He then directed me to YWAM Kona Music, where I have been serving since January 2023. Since then the Lord has put on my heart to pursue missions long term.

Now in September 2023 I will be pursuing further training with YWAM Kona in a Bible and missions school called Revival and Reformation. It’s a nine month long school going in-depth into the Bible, biblical worldview, apologetics, and communication. It will then end with an additional one month, hands-on outreach. I believe that this will give me a rock solid foundation to continue to follow the work the Lord has called me to.
