Hi everyone!!

My name is Josephine Starner, and I am a 24 year old woman from Iowa! After earning my B.A. & M.A. in 2022, I felt the Lord nudging me to do a Discipleship Training School with the missions organization Youth With A Mission. It is there that my worldview completely shifted and my relationship with Christ deepened. I had the opportunity to live in Lebanon for 3 months on outreach, where our ministries included street evangelism, volunteering at schools teaching English, and relational missions with the Muslim and Syrian refugee communities. After this life-changing experience, God captivated my heart for the Nations. Directly after graduating from DTS, I began praying about what my next season should look like and through many different transitions, uncertainty and a LOT of prayer, the Lord has led me back to YWAM Kona to staff the Fire & Fragrance DTS.

Before staffing, I will be going through a 3 month leadership track which is meant to uplift, equip and better prepare me for this opportunity. Once the F&F school begins in September, I will be a room leader for 8-10 young women who I will be one on one discipling. Our main purpose during the lecture phase will be to pour into the students and help them on their journey with Christ as well as planning and putting in place all of the details for our outreach teams. After the lecture phase, our entire school will be sent to over 20 nations, to preach the Gospel and share the name of Jesus.

One of my favorite things about YWAM is their heart to empower youth to be Gospel preachers, evangelists, worshippers and world shakers. I believe Gen-Z is a generation that amidst so much confusion and division, will bring truth and light to the World through the name of Jesus. Gen-Z is a fiery bunch and it is those individuals that I want to help empower to preach the Gospel, to free the captives and send out as workers.

Matthew 9:37-38 - Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

In order to do this I am in need of support through both prayer and finances and am hoping to have a monthly team that amounts to $2,000. This money will go towards things like rent, groceries, tithing/generosity, transportation, outreach costs and personal care. I feel it is important that you know that by partnering with me, you are sowing into the Kingdom and helping to fulfill the Great Commission. It will not just be me that benefits from your support, but also the many students I will be impacting as well as the 100’s of people we will be sharing the Gospel with. Lives will be changed through your support, and while you may not be on the ground seeing the fruit of your gift, you play just as important of a role.

Romans 12:4-8 - We have many parts in one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body.
