Hi I’m Devonya

I’m a full time missionary on staff with an organization called Circuit Riders (empowered by YWAM) in Huntington Beach, CA.

This is my 2nd year being on staff and I’m super expectant for what the Lord’s about to do. My first year on staff I got the privilege of leading my first Black Voices tour to HBCUs in the southeast region. With my 2nd year of being on staff I thought I would be doing the same thing, but the Lord had other plans. Instead of leading a tour, I was blessed with the opportunity to disciple a house of 14 women to help prepare them for the mission field, but ultimately to become greater lovers of Jesus. 

 My 1st year of staff was strictly just planning and leading outreach.This is where I got to lead a Black voices tour to HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) in the southeast region. It was such a fruitful time, but afterwards the Lord asked me to step into a new thing. So I’m now in what we call “training circle”. The sole purpose of this new role is to discipline incoming students to prepare them for the mission field and ultimately become greater lovers of Jesus. This past fall I got the privilege to help lead a house of 14 women and honestly my life has been super transformed by it. I got the chance to understand the importance of discipleship on a greater level and what it means to pick up my cross and follow Jesus.

This upcoming spring I’m gearing up to do the same thing and also prepare for my first international outreach! The locations for outreach this year are Europe, Mexico, East Africa, South Africa, Australia, South America, and the Philippines. I’ll be in one of these places for 8 weeks to further the gospel of Jesus and empower the people to do the same!
